One of the city's most iconic landmarks is the Brisbane River, which meanders through the heart of the metropolis. A cruise along the river or a stroll along its banks provides stunning views of the cityscape and leads to the lush South Bank Parklands, a cultural precinct where visitors can find the Queensland Museum and Sciencentre, the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art, and the Queensland Performing Arts Centre.
The city's outdoor lifestyle is one of its biggest draws.
