Owls Nest Lodge

Owls Nest Lodge is a timber-clad lodge set in a peaceful corner of the West Down Estate, offering a relaxing rural retreat with a private outdoor jacuzzi bath. Sleeping up to 4 guests across 1 bedroom plus a sofa bed, the accommodation is all on one level and features a light-filled, open-plan interior. The kitchen is well-equipped with an electric oven and hob, kettle, fridge and a full range of cookware, crockery and cutlery. A dining table and chairs sit alongside a three-seater sofa (which converts to a sofa bed), arranged around a wood-burning stove and television for cosy evenings in. The bedroom is accessed via the living area, and the en-suite bathroom includes a walk-in shower, toilet and basin. Outside, a short gravel drive leads to the lodge, with parking available for one car just inside the gates and the option to drive closer for unloading luggage. A few steps lead up to a private decked terrace with beautiful countryside views, where guests will find the outdoor jacuzzi bath, seating and blankets for cooler evenings — a wonderful spot to relax under the stars or enjoy a quiet morning coffee. There is no enclosed garden, but guests are welcome to explore the wider estate grounds. Bed linen and towels are provided, and heating and electricity are included in the price, making the lodge comfortable for year-round stays. Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome for a charge of GBP 25 per dog; dogs should be kept off the furniture, must not be left alone in the property, and guests are asked to clean up after them. The property is strictly no smoking. Please note the lodge is accessed via an uneven path and steps, so it is not suitable for guests with limited mobility or wheelchair users. Children are welcome. Check-in is from 4 pm and check-out by 10 am.
