Barn Cottage, Brayford

Barn Cottage sits at the South end of a large former farmhouse, offering peaceful holiday accommodation for up to 4 guests across three bedrooms - one double and two singles - with a family bathroom comprising bath, overhead shower, toilet and hand basin. A short flight of steps leads up to the entrance and into the kitchen, which was fully renovated in 2022 and fitted with an electric cooker and hob, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and microwave, along with a toaster, kettle, cookware, utensils, cutlery, crockery and glasses. A few more steps lead into the living room with a dining table and a television with Freeview, enjoying beautiful south-facing views across the gardens and countryside beyond. Wi-Fi is available throughout. Bed linen, duvets and blankets are provided, and towels can be supplied for a supplement of GBP 3 per person. A cot and high chair are available on request. Electricity is included in the price, and the cottage has oil-fired central heating with a GBP 30 allowance included; any oil used beyond this is charged at cost. The cottage is strictly non-smoking. Outside, guests are welcome to enjoy the gardens as much as they like, with fabulous countryside views, woodland walks and plenty of space for picnics, football and outdoor games. A barbecue is available on request, and there are walks down to the river with fly fishing available upstream on both banks. A former threshing barn next door has been converted into an indoor badminton court, which guests are welcome to use; this and the gardens are shared with a neighbouring holiday cottage. There’s also an outdoor play area with swings, a slide, fireman’s pole, monkey bars and a play fort, making this a great choice for families. Allocated parking is situated around 50 metres from the property, though guests may pull up outside the front door to load and unload.
