Walk through the thatched gatehouse and the compound opens out around the pool. Casa Cana is set up for a multi-generation group who want a long active week on the resort. The villa sits in Punta Aguila on a generous inland plot, with the back lawn looking out on a fairway and the games-room glass wall facing the same view. Eight bedrooms across two wings sleep up to sixteen, with an included cook handling all the meals.
Someone’s on the Pilates reformer before breakfast. Someone else is in the golf simulator working on their swing while the group sorts out tee times. Loungers around the pool fill up by midday. Nothing has to share a slot here — there’s enough on the property that the group can pull in different directions at the same hour. The covered thatched pavilion at the pool’s edge is where the group settles for late-afternoon drinks, and by sundown the lanterns come on along the deck and everyone gathers at the long outdoor table beside the pool.
A short cart ride takes you to Teeth of the Dog, ranked the Caribbean’s top course by the World Golf Awards. The Links is right alongside, and Minitas Beach a few minutes further. Altos de Chavón sits on the far side of the resort if the group wants a night out away from the property. Casa Cana is the villa to book when a big group wants a trip stitched together from active days and slow evenings, with the gym and the golf at the same address as the pool.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: What does the cook prepare, and how does dining for sixteen work at Casa Cana?
The cook prepares all the meals at the villa — breakfast, lunch, and dinner — and can accommodate dietary preferences when discussed in advance. The indoor dining table seats twelve under a cluster of woven rattan pendants, and a long outdoor table runs along the pool terrace for alfresco meals. Groups often split the day between the two: breakfast outside facing the pool, dinner indoors after sundown. The waiter handles service across both settings.
Q: How does golf work with Casa Cana, given the on-property simulator?
The golf simulator is a fully enclosed room with a projector and tee mat — useful for warming up before a round or for the days the group is splitting between activities. Teeth of the Dog and The Links both tee off a short cart ride from the villa, with Teeth of the Dog ranked the Caribbean’s top course by the World Golf Awards. Tee times are arranged through the resort concierge and green fees are paid at the pro shop. The villa’s golf carts make moving between the property and the courses straightforward for a group.
Q: Can Casa Cana host a private dinner or larger gathering?
The villa is built for entertaining a full group of sixteen across multiple zones. The thatched central pavilion is the main gathering space, and the open game wing carries a billiard table, a media lounge, and floor-to-ceiling glass walls to the pool. The long outdoor table on the pool terrace handles alfresco dinners for the full group, with a covered thatched pavilion alongside for drinks and lounging. Catering and event setup beyond the standard meal service can be arranged through our concierge for a private celebration or a hosted dinner.
Q: What does the wellness and recreation setup at Casa Cana include?
The amenity wing is one of the most complete on the resort. The home gym carries a Pilates reformer alongside cardio and a multi-station weights setup, and the golf simulator sits in its own enclosed room. One of the primary suites has an outdoor garden bathroom with a freestanding tub and a separate teak-deck shower, walled in by tropical foliage. Together with the pool, the central jacuzzi, and the open games room, the property is set up for a group that wants to stay active without leaving the villa.
