At the foot of the Sintra Mountains sits Colares, the miraculously peaceful coastal town that will simply take your breath away.
With a plethora of seaside restaurants, beautiful cliff walks and its stunning scenery, Colares has it all. And within this town, right on the cusp of the beautiful Praia Grande, sits the dreamy Beachfront Recluse.
This stunning property is spacious yet cosy, with room for 16 people, occupying 8000 squared meters of its own grounds, feeding onto the infamous Praia Grande, the breath-taking Beachfront Recluse boasts a location like no other. Wake up to the sound of the crashing waves of the Atlantic, which is just beyond the luscious green grass of the property’s expansive lawns. The extensive grounds include a large swimming pool and a covered dining area with seating for all your guests. A stone pathway leads from the house to the pool and the sea beyond.
The interiors of the main house are traditional and charming, with tiled floors, whitewash walls, and wooden ceilings, creating a homely holiday vibe.
The main house has a large living, dining area complete with sofa space for plenty and a beautiful ornate dining table with an overhanging chandelier. Large French windows open from the dining room onto the grounds beyond, filtering natural light into the house at all hours. the bedrooms are simple and inviting, with the occasional brightly striped chair juxtaposed against cream sheets and white walls creating a cheerful, fresh feeling. The master bedroom is located on the ground floor, meaning you can wake up and stroll straight out into the stunning grounds. On the first floor there is a further self-contained apartment with its own open-plan kitchenette area and two bedrooms, meaning you can access it privately if you want. One bedroom has two single beds and the other a large double, making this the ideal place for a family that wants its own space. There is then another self-contained apartment with two rooms, both with two singles, also located on the first floor. All the bedrooms are ensuite.
There is a charming bungalow located in the grounds, with a mezzanine floor and three single beds. This is the perfect place for a kids’ hideout.
The balcony is fully equipped with its own kitchen, terrace and outdoor lounge area, meaning that whoever stays there can enjoy their own privacy or join in with the rest of the party. There is a further bedroom for staff, meaning you can live in the lap of luxury during your stay here. The Beachfront Recluse also has its own large private parking with space for 10 cars. This accommodation does not accept groups of young people (up to 25 years).
