You, your loved ones, and guests will enjoy this 4-bedroom, 2-bath, old Pawleys style cottage on the mainland side of the marsh across from Pawleys Island’s Pritchard Street landing. Mace House is designed to comfortably accommodate 6 and includes all amenities with a large kitchen/dining/living/ area and laundry, central electric heat and air, plus large roadside and screened Marshside porches with outside dining and a Creekside dock. Off-street parking is available for up to four cars.
Set in Waterford Heights, a secluded, family neighborhood surrounded by more than 600 acres under perpetual conservation easement, sightings of deer, wild turkey and other wildlife are not uncommon. These include a variety of birds including herons, snowy egrets, ibis, wood storks, as well as osprey and bald eagles. The setting is unmatched by all but a few remaining, usually gated, places on the east coast.
Spanish moss draped live oaks and sable palmettos invite you to escape daily cares on our wide screened porch, in hammock, rockers or swing. Watch the sunrise over the marsh and Pawleys. Sip your evening beverage on our private Creekside dock. Crab, shrimp, fish. Take kayaks or a small Jon boat, for access to the main creek and Pawleys as well as a winding hidden marsh few know.
A wall of glass doors across the main room with its large wood burning fireplace lets you enjoy glorious views in comfort during those rare moments when you’d rather stay inside, or you may open them to bring the sea breezes into the house.
Under the house, an outdoor shower allows you to rinse off beach salt and sand or pluff mud. A fish prep area lets you clean the day’s catch before bringing it into the kitchen.
A short drive or boat ride, depending on the tide, takes you to the historic Pawley’s beach for swimming, surfing, and walking. Six kayaks with paddles and life jackets are yours to use during your stay as you and your family spend time together with our little collection of books and games, or enjoy the privacy our 1800 square foot home offers.
Nearby are world-class golfing, shopping, historic homes and churches, and restaurants galore. The beautiful sculptures and gardens and miles of beach and marsh at Brookgreen Gardens and Huntington Beach State Park are only a few miles north. Fifteen minutes takes you to historic Georgetown, or Murrells Inlet, half an hour to Myrtle Beach, and an hour to Charleston.
Guests of The Mace House are able to enjoy an array of amenities located at Litchfield Beach & Golf Resort that include: indoor pool, outdoor pool with lazy river and play plaza, health and fitness center, bike rentals and Starbucks™
