Neighborhood
There is a beautiful coastline of unspoilt beaches within a short drive, which are crossed by the Ria Formosa Natural Reserve, considered to be one of the seven natural wonders of the Algarve. The Praia de Tavira is the region’s finest and most popular beach, which is connected to Tavira by a regular and inexpensive ferry, which departs from the city centre (10-minute walk from the apartment) and also from Quatro-Aguas. The Island is 11Km long and is thought to be one of the best beaches in the Algarve Region. Many companies offer boat tours, including kayaking and paddle boarding.
The town’s leisure centre is next door to the condominium which offers superb leisure facilities including a 25 metre, 8-lane indoor pool, 5 newly resurfaced tennis courts and an Astroturf.
Tavira is also a great location for golfers with a range of courses close by offering beautiful scenery in peaceful surroundings, including Monte Rei which has been ranked as the best course in the Algarve.
Tavira is well known for its quaint traditional streets, where old meets new, and is a great place to do some sightseeing and while away time in the sun with a glass of wine in one of its charming plazas or cobbled streets.
Transit
There is public transport available in the area and all around the Algarve. But bus and trains do not go very often and a (rental) car is recommended
