Neighborhood
The main boulevard in Portimao is located behind Praia da Rocha and has many restaurants, bars, hotels, shops and clubs. This area offers a stunning coastline of beautiful beaches, great tourist facilities and almost perfect year-round weather.
You can link up with the main bus service to visit the eastern and western parts of the Algarve. But if you like exploring the surrounding area, we strongly recommend hiring a car. There is free parking space all around this area but note that it does get busy in summer so you might need to search for a nearby spot.
The very popular Zoomarine park is just a 15-minute drive away in Guia. Two other waterparks and the Lagos Zoo are around a 30-minute drive from this apartment. You will find large commercial shopping centers in Portimão, Albufeira (Guia), Loulé and Faro.
Transit
There is public transport available in the area and all around the Algarve. But buses and trains do not go very often and a (rental) car is recommended. In the summer season, you can also use the tourist train to get around town.
