Designed by Hugh Kaptur, a pioneer of Palm Springs desert modernism, this mid-century showpiece channels the romance of a Greek island escape. Whitewashed stucco and sharp modern lines glow under the desert sun, palms frame a shimmering pool, and mountains rise like distant Aegean calderas. Spend your days lingering over taverna-style brunches, drifting in the water, and sipping starlit cocktails beside bougainvillea—your own private island, reimagined in the desert.
Highlights
• Dog-Friendly, Fully Fenced Yard – Let your pup roam while you sip a cocktail in the shade.
• Heated Private Pool – Perfect for sunrise swims or evening dips under desert stars.
• Remodeled Kitchen & Baths – Cook in style and unwind in spa-like comfort.
• 2-Car Garage + Laundry – Park with ease, pack light, and stay fresh all trip long.
• Multiple Outdoor Lounges – Sunbathe, dine al fresco, or toast the mountains at sunset.
The Space
This single-level retreat blends Hugh Kaptur’s desert modernism with breezy Greek island charm. Sunlight fills the open layout, connecting the bright living room, dining area, and a remodeled kitchen with stainless steel appliances, sleek cabinetry, and modern finishes. A full wall of retractable sliding glass doors erases the line between indoors and out, bringing citrus blossoms, pool shimmer, and mountain views right into the heart of the home.
Sleeping Arrangements
• Primary Bedroom: King bed, updated en-suite bathroom with dual sinks and walk-in shower, with extra large sliding glass doors to a flagstone patio and mountain views
• Bedroom 2: King bed with its own private patio
• Bedroom 3: Two Twin beds
• Hallway Bathroom: Updated tile throughout with full-size bathtub
Outdoor Living
Step outside and sink into your own private desert sanctuary. The sparkling pool catches the sunlight by day (and can optionally be heated for year-round swims), framed by Mediterranean landscaping and a pet-friendly turf lawn. Curl up on the full-size outdoor daybed for an afternoon nap, or claim a shady seat under the covered patio for cocktails and conversation. As the sun sets, gather around the built-in fire pit and watch the desert sky spill over with stars.
Location
Minutes from the chic Uptown Design District, this tranquil Vista Norte retreat puts designer boutiques, art galleries, fine dining, and downtown Palm Springs’ nightlife right at your fingertips—along with quick escapes to hiking trails and sweeping desert views.
Pool Heat
Ensure a comfortable swim with optional pool heating, available upon request at booking or before your arrival. The pool is heated to 87º from 7 AM to 7 PM throughout your stay. Rates vary by season: November–March: $75/night and April, May, October: $50/night. Heat is not needed in other months not listed.
For stays under 5 nights, pool heat must be purchased for the entire stay—unfortunately we cannot heat it for select days.
A 24-hour notice prior to arrival is required to ensure optimal warmth on your first night. Heating begins the day before your arrival at no extra charge.
Hot Tub
Unwind in the elegance of your private hot tub, heated instantly at the touch of a remote. There’s no preheating required, no added charge, and no schedule but your own. From crisp desert mornings to velvety starlit nights, immerse yourself in the warm, effervescent waters and let the stillness of the desert frame each perfect moment.
Summer Utility Surcharge
For stays of 29 nights or longer between June 1st and September 31st, a $750/month utility surcharge will apply to help cover the additional energy costs associated with cooling the home during the summer heat.
