The apartment is in an ideal location for anyone who wants to explore this fascinating city. It is just a 3-minute walk from the Porta Soprana, one of Genova’s ancient gateways, on the edge of the “Centro Storico”. The glorious Romanesque San Lorenzo Cathedral is a 9-minute walk, and Piazza del Ferrari is only a 6-minute walk. Sarzano metro station is just a 7-minute walk from the apartment, so getting around the city is a breeze. Other museums and galleries are within easy walking distance.
Genoa is famous for its fine food and has many excellent restaurants to suit all budgets. To fully appreciate the city and its food, the best market is the Mercato Orientale in Via XX Settembre (10-minute walk). Otherwise, there are street markets every day across most of the city.
The lively port area, the Porto Antico di Genova, is a 15-minute walk from the apartment. This is a large cultural space with events, restaurants, shops and an outdoor swimming pool. The modern Aquarium of Genova is also worth a visit (16-minute walk).
