The Masseria is subdivided in two floors: the ground floor is composed of four independent apartments, all available on this website, while on the first floor we have a fifth apartment, for exclusive use of the owners, whom stay here just a few weeks a year.
The four apartments recall the colors of the earth and are embellished by beautiful rustic furniture. All four apartments are equipped with fully furnished kitchens and with ample and comfortable bathrooms, each one of them evoking the Apulian vegetation through their naming.
Melograno is an exclusive apartment that gives you direct access to the spacious square in Apulian stone of the Masseria. The entrance opens up to a livable kitchen, where we get access to the living area, characterized by oval vaults and by little niches obtained from the walls, contained petit ceramic polychromes from Grottaglie. In the master bedrooms we can find unique spaces that have been retrieved from historic storage areas where the food was once preserved. From the bedroom, guests have direct access to the petit terrace, to admire and look over the colorful nature of the garden, the beauty of the historic citrus grove and the large pool (salt water filtering system – without any additional chemicals) with adjacent a solarium, to be shared with the other four apartments of the Masseria.
The Masseria has three other apartments on top of Melograno, namely Roseto, Peperoncino and Fico D’India, the last apartments includes a private pool.
Moving on, we find a large pool, shared with all four apartments, with salt water filtering system – without any additional chemicals. The Masseria complex is immersed in a unique environment, enriched by the nature all around, embellished by the centennial Olive trees, perfumed by the scents of the citrus trees, and by the various and typical colors of the Mediterranean: from the green colors of the vegetation, the candid white coloring of lime stone, to the shadings of stones tinted by colorful flowers. Arising in a choreographic position on a hill, allowing guests to enjoy breathtaking views reaching the clear waters of the sea.
Masseria Pepenofio offers a 5-star service: great quality bed-linen, prestigious dish service, and various other facilities including laundry service. This Masseria is a place of absolute charm, ideal for guests whom would love to concede themselves a little bit of luxury, once in a while. About the area
Monopoli, a charming coastal town in Italy's Puglia region, is a captivating blend of history, culture, and Mediterranean beauty. This hidden gem, less frequented by the tourist crowds, offers a serene escape with its picturesque landscapes, pristine beaches, and rich historical tapestry.
The heart of Monopoli lies in its Old Town, a labyrinth of narrow streets and whitewashed buildings that exude an old-world charm. Visitors can wander through these alleys, stumbling upon quaint piazzas, historic churches, and the imposing Castle of Charles V, which stands as a testament to the town's strategic importance through the ages.
The town's coastline is dotted with a series of coves and sandy beaches, providing ample opportunities for sunbathing, swimming, and enjoying the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic Sea. The most famous of these is Cala Porta Vecchia, a picturesque beach nestled against the backdrop of Monopoli's ancient city walls.
For those interested in marine life and underwater exploration, Monopoli's sea is rich with opportunities for diving and snorkeling, revealing a submerged world of biodiversity and even some intriguing shipwrecks.
Culinary enthusiasts will delight in Monopoli's gastronomic offerings, which reflect the region's agricultural bounty and seafood traditions. Local dishes often feature fresh produce, olive oil, and fish, with restaurants and trattorias serving up specialties like orecchiette pasta with turnip tops and sumptuous seafood risottos.
Cultural experiences abound, with the town's calendar dotted with festivals and events that celebrate its heritage. Notable among these is the Festa della Madonna della Madia, where a procession at sea commemorates the miraculous arrival of an icon of the Virgin Mary, which according to legend, helped complete the town's cathedral.
Speaking of which, the Cathedral of Maria Santissima della Madia is an architectural marvel, boasting a stunning Baroque facade and a richly decorated interior. Art lovers will find a treasure trove of religious art and iconography within its walls.
For a taste of rural Puglia, visitors can venture into the surrounding countryside, where ancient olive groves and vineyards paint a bucolic scene. Agritourism is popular here, offering a chance to stay in renovated farmhouses and experience the region's agricultural lifestyle.
In essence, Monopoli is a destination that offers a serene coastal retreat, steeped in history and local traditions, with all the charm expected of a southern Italian town. It's a place where travelers can slow down, savor the moment, and immerse themselves in the authentic Puglian way of life.
