Casa Sanchez is a spectacular modern take on the classic pueblo-style Santa Fe residence. This Eastside jewel is only a 10-minute walk to the historic Plaza and five minutes to famed Canyon Road. Designed and constructed in 2010 by Scott Wong of Solterra Home Design, the award-winning home features spacious living and bedroom areas, modern amenities and up-to-date appliances in a serene, relaxed setting. Plentiful skylights and upper clerestory windows throughout the house bring the enchanting New Mexican blue sky indoors.
Mere blocks from Santa Fe’s top restaurants, museums, galleries and historic sights, Casa Sanchez was a home tour award winner (best kitchen, best use of natural light, green award). Features include high ceilings with exposed beams, recently updated furnishings in an open living and dining area, reclaimed wood shelving and white marble countertops in the chef’s kitchen stocked with everything needed for food and beverage preparation, walk-in pantry, French doors opening to inviting patios, luxe interior finish, antique Mexican interior wooden doors, laundry closet with full-sized washer-dryer, and hardwood floors through-out the air-conditioned house.
The owner’s private collection of original Southwestern art and sculpture by Santa Fe and Austin artists is beautifully displayed in the house and on the grounds. A gated courtyard entry with adobe walls surround the property provides classic Southwestern visual appeal and enhanced privacy.
Casa Sanchez has four spacious bedrooms, four-and-a-half roomy bathrooms and well-designed contemporary closets in 2,748 square feet of living space. The large primary bedroom features a king bed under a sky-light, walk-in closet, a luxurious primary bathroom featuring a soaking spa-tub and sky-lighted shower. Two other main-floor guest rooms, each with a full bathroom, are furnished with queen beds. The downstairs guest quarters, served by a separate entrance, includes a work-area with table and chairs, two queen beds and a full bathroom. The home sleeps 10 persons in quiet comfort.
State of the art home entertainment features include a new wall-mounted 55-inch Sony Bravia HD smart-TV, Xfinity 220-channel cable-TV package including HBO, Sonos sound system and super-fast 1-gig Xfinity Wi-Fi. Enjoy alfresco private dining and entertaining on the primary outdoor patio which features a large, shady portal, a wood-burning fire-place, large dining table with eight chairs, outdoor speakers and a Weber gas grill. Two other enclosed outdoor patio areas are directly accessible from guest bedrooms.
Casa Sanchez has off-street parking for three cars and is only a short walk to Kaune’s Market where guests can stock up on fresh food and beverages to enjoy at home.
