The Neighborhood

Kazimierz is a historic district of Krakow that was once an independent city founded in the 14th century by King Casimir the Great. Today, it is one of the most charming places in Krakow, full of monuments, atmospheric streets, and a unique atmosphere. The Kazimierz district has many interesting places to visit: - Synagogues and Jewish cemeteries - Kazimierz is known for its Jewish history, and it houses several synagogues, including the Old Synagogue and the Remuh Synagogue, next to which is the old Jewish cemetery. - Plac Nowy - The heart of Kazimierz's nightlife, with numerous bars, cafes, and restaurants. Famous for its zapiekanki, which can be bought at one of the many stands on the square. - Galicia Jewish Museum - A museum dedicated to the history of Jews in Galicia, with numerous photographic and documentary exhibitions. - Church on the Rock (Kościół na Skałce) - One of the most important churches in Krakow, a place of worship for St. Stanislaus. - Vistula Boulevards - Ideal for walks or bike rides, with beautiful views of the Vistula River and Wawel Castle. Kazimierz is full of diverse restaurants and cafes, offering both traditional Polish dishes and international cuisine.
