The town is blessed with some beautiful Renaissance buildings, churches and monasteries. The Museum of Apoxyomenos is dedicated to an ancient Greek statue which is almost completely intact. For self-catering, in addition to supermarkets, there is a small daily market in Mali Losinj and an excellent fish market where you can purchase the freshest fish to cook at home. Losinj is unspoiled by development but there are plenty of adventures to be had. There are several watersports schools on the island where visitors can learn to sail, windsurf or surf, and the pristine sea means that there is excellent visibility for snorkeling and scuba diving. Away from the water you can parachute, rock climb and take a cycle tour through unspoiled countryside. Rijeka Airport is the nearest airport, reached via a ferry (2 hours 25 minutes) or Pula Airport (3 hours) also, via a ferry.
