The town's main attraction is its beautiful harbor, lined with cafes and restaurants where you can enjoy fresh seafood and traditional Greek cuisine while gazing out at the calm Aegean Sea. The waterfront is also the departure point for boat trips to the historic island of Spinalonga, which is famous for its Venetian fortress and poignant history as a leper colony.
Elounda's beaches are another highlight, with Plaka Beach offering stunning views of Spinalonga and a pebbly shore that's perfect for sunbathing and swimming in the clear blue waters. For those seeking a sandy experience, the nearby Elounda Beach provides a more traditional seaside setting.
