Nicknamed "the lungs of the city" Drenova is known for its extensive green spaces and occupies a plateau above Rijeka. The town is also home to the Heritage Museum of Drenova (a 7-minute drive/25-minute walk) which showcases the area’s rich history and cultural heritage. Rijeka itself is Croatia’s third-largest city and whilst better know as a port has several nearby beaches, Ploče, a Blue Flag beach and Sablićevo Beach, both of which are approximately a 13-minute drive away. The town is particularly known for its rich maritime history, Austro-Hungarian architecture and vibrant cultural scene. For culture and people watching guests should head to Korzo (a 10-minute drive) the city’s main pedestrian street, lined with cafes, shops, and historic buildings.
