Cross-Country Skiing in Cervinia
Cervinia, one of the most renowned winter and summer tourist destinations in the Alps, known as "The Kingdom of the Matterhorn", is dominated by the imposing Matterhorn. At the town’s entrance, surrounded by the Grandes Murailles range, you’ll find a 3 km loop with a varied course suitable for both beginners and experts. Traditional Dishes Tell the Story of Europe’s Most Fascinating Pyramid
No Italian region lacks an unforgettable culinary itinerary of delicious specialties and traditional dishes that tell the story of Italy, but the smallest region truly knows its stuff. After an intense day on the slopes of Valtournenche, it’s important to recharge and indulge in the welcoming and cozy environments of a traditional mountain hut and savor the Valdostan delicacies. To taste them all, you might need to extend your mountain vacation.
Aside from the delicious Fontina Dop from Valle D’Aosta, especially enjoyed during fun fondue gatherings, typical velvety soups and platters with cheeses and cured meats, the Valdostan cuisine boasts a rich menu of traditional dishes like the famous carbonade, not to be confused with Roman carbonara.
The Val d’Aosta carbonade is a dish of tender beef stew cooked in wine and usually served with a side of polenta. Other delightful dishes include polenta concia baked with melted fontina, veal chops golden in butter, pappardelle with game meat sauce, and to finish, a Valdostan coffee also known as grolla dell’amicizia with sweet and crispy tegole d’Aosta, an almond and hazelnut biscuit inspired by the roofs of the Valle D’Aosta. To top it all off, you won’t miss out on a good blueberry grappa!
