The Neighborhood
Bali, the "Island of the Gods," is a paradise for those seeking adventure, relaxation, and spiritual fulfillment. The island is bursting with a wide array of activities that cater to the most intrepid of adventurers. From its wild jungles and majestic volcanic mountains to its iconic rice paddies and radiant beaches, the island presents a visual feast for the senses. Beneath the surface, the coral reefs teem with life, offering a window into the marvels of the underwater world. And for the thrill-seekers, the island's renowned surf spots provide the perfect arena to test one's skills and harness the raw power of the ocean. And throughout it all, the rich tapestry of Hindu culture imbues the island with a profound spiritual essence. *Surfing* For the surf enthusiasts, the island of Bali holds a plethora of world-class opportunities to test their skill and challenge themselves. Keramas Beach, having hosted the world surf leage championship, is just a 40-minute drive from our property, known for having some of the best waves in the world along with unmatched natural beauty. Other well-known surf spots on the eastern coast of the island include Sanur Reef, Hyat Reef, Serangan, and Cucukan Beach. *Temples* Perhaps the most important temple of all is Pura Besakih, also known as the "mother of all temples”. Expect to encounter and experience a rich culture and history of the Balinese people as you explore this sacred site, located 1000 meters up the slopes of Mount Agung – Bali's largest volcano! Witness the powerful and enduring bond between the Balinese and the natural world as you wander through its seven levels, adorned with statues of Lord Vishnu, Brahma, and Shiva – the three of which make up the supreme divinity in Hinduism. With a total of at least 86 other temples, Pura Besakih is the largest Hindu complex in all of Bali – so don’t miss out on this attraction! *Monkey Sanctuary* The Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary in Bali is a place where nature, culture, and spirituality intersect in a truly unique way. Nestled in the heart of Ubud, the sanctuary is home to a troop of over 700 long-tailed macaques, who roam freely among the lush tropical forest and ancient temples that make up the sanctuary. As visitors enter, they are greeted by the playful and curious monkeys, who may jump on their shoulders or snatch a banana from their hands. While the monkeys may seem like the main attraction, the sanctuary is also home to a rich diversity of plants and wildlife. The forest is a perfect place to explore, with many hidden temples and shrines, which are believed to have been built in the 14th century. *Hiking* Mount Batur, the second highest peak on Bali, is a crown jewel of the island’s rugged and beautiful landscape. Known to be one of the most stunning area of natural beauty on the island, it offers a panorama of stunning vistas from its summit at 1,717 meters above sea level, including the awe-inspiring Caldera Lake and the staggering Mount Kintamani. It is best to go before sunrise and takes about 4 hours to climb to the top, which may require you to wake up earlier than usual, but the scenery that awaits you is 100% worth it!
