West View, Southwold

Tucked away in a peaceful spot overlooking the Common just a short stroll from the high street and beach, West View is the perfect base for a Southwold getaway. The sociable open-plan ground floor features a well-equipped kitchen and a cosy living space, with three comfortable bedrooms (king, super-king and single) provide a restful retreat—ideal for unwinding after a day exploring all the magic Southwold has to offer. LIVING/KITCHEN/DINING ROOM A sociable space with the kitchen at one end where built in units house a double electric oven with a four-ring hob and extractor above, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and a large free-standing fridge (three deep shelves and a veg drawer, microwave, kettle and toaster. The dining table with six chairs sits by the opening to the sitting area which is furnished with a sofa, chairs and occasional tables. Glazed doors open from here into the lovely sunny drawing room so you can choose to have some privacy with the doors closed, or be sociable with them open. This room is furnished with ample comfy seating for five guests with a TV sitting on a corner unit. UTILITY ROOM At the back of the house, accessed from the kitchen or through a door to the courtyard and access to the road, this room is ideal when you come home from the beach with sandy feet and beach gear. There’s a dryer and a drying rack in here for wet towels etc., also a countertop freezer with two shelves. CLOAKROOM Off the hallway, simply with a WC and wash basin. FIRST FLOOR Relatively steep carpeted stairs with a handrail rise straight to the first-floor split-level landing. All bedrooms are carpeted. MAIN BEDROOM Enjoy the wonderful view of Southwold common and iconic water tower from the super king size bed which sits between bedside tables in this lovely light bedroom. There’s ample storage for you to unpack and settle in with a large wardrobe and two chests of drawers, plus a couple of chairs where you can have some quiet time with a good book. DOUBLE ROOM Another light room with a window at the back of the house, furnished with a king size bed between tables, and a built-in wardrobe and a small chest of drawers for your clothes. WC Conveniently positioned for guests in the main bedroom and the double. BATHROOM The bath has a hand-held shower over it with a shower curtain and there’s a WC, wash basin, and natural light. SINGLE ROOM Sitting quietly at the back with a sturdy single bed, deep bedside drawers, a small wardrobe with shelves and hanging space, and a window overlooking the courtyard. OUTSIDE Whilst there’s no allocated parking here you can generally park in the car park just a short walk away, or on nearby roads. At the back is a shared courtyard with a table and a couple of chairs, also space to store bikes if you wish but please be aware that the space is shared with the neighbouring property.
