Following the walk from Playa de las Canteras towards the north you reach La Isleta, a fishing neighborhood located at the access to a small peninsula of the same name. This neighborhood, built on rugged terrain, is characterized by its narrow streets, old shops and bustling bars. The barracks of the Canary Islands Infantry Regiment 50 and other military installations are also located on La Isleta. One of the centers of the neighborhood is Manuel Becerra Square, with the lighthouse on one side and access to the port facilities on the other. To the south of the small peninsula is the Castillo de la Luz, the oldest fortification on the island.
The La Isleta peninsula is separated from the rest of the city by a narrow inlet, bordered to the south by Puerto de la Luz and Las Palmas. This port has become one of the main logistics centers for transshipment of goods and containers in North Africa. It also historically played an important role in the economic prosperity of the island. Currently, around 1,000 ships dock daily at its docks. To the south of the commercial docks (already far from La Isleta) there is a marina, from which regattas depart every year that cross the Atlantic.
Welcome to the Isleta!! You can park for free throughout the area... you just have to find a space to do it!!
The Castle of Light and the island’s port are located a few meters from the accommodation. Several bus lines pass through there, and Puntilla beach is also a few steps away.
First floor without elevator. Mostly residential area, so parking is not "easy" but after a few turns you can always find where to park.
If you cause damage to the property during your stay, you may be required to pay according to Property Manager’s property damage policy.

About the area
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the cosmopolitan capital of the Canary Islands, is a city that offers a delightful mix of sun, sea, and culture. As a travel destination, it appeals to a wide range of visitors, from beach lovers to history buffs, and from foodies to adventure seekers.
The city's crown jewel is undoubtedly Las Canteras Beach, a stunning stretch of golden sand that is often considered one of the best urban beaches in the world. Protected by a natural reef, the waters here are calm and perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and surfing. The beachfront promenade, lined with cafes and restaurants, is the perfect place to enjoy a leisurely stroll or a meal with a view.
Las Palmas is also rich in history and culture. The Vegueta district, the city's historic heart, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site where you can wander through narrow, cobblestone streets and admire the colonial architecture. Key historical sites include the Cathedral of Santa Ana, the Columbus House (Casa de Colón), where Christopher Columbus is said to have stayed, and the Canarian Museum, which delves into the indigenous history of the islands.
The city's culinary scene is another highlight, offering a fusion of Spanish, African, and Latin American flavors. Visitors can indulge in fresh seafood, sample traditional Canarian dishes such as papas arrugadas (wrinkled potatoes) with mojo sauce, and enjoy the vibrant tapas culture.
For those interested in the arts, Las Palmas does not disappoint. The city boasts a number of galleries and cultural institutions, including the Atlantic Center of Modern Art (CAAM) and the Pérez Galdós Theater, which hosts a variety of performances throughout the year.
Outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty to do beyond the beach. The nearby countryside offers hiking and cycling opportunities, with scenic trails that showcase the island's volcanic landscapes and lush vegetation. The Jardín Botánico Canario Viera y Clavijo, the largest botanical garden in Spain, is a must-visit for nature lovers.
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is a city that truly has something for everyone. With its year-round pleasant climate, diverse attractions, and welcoming atmosphere, it's a destination that promises a memorable and enjoyable experience for all who visit.
