Area description and nearby activities:
Supetarska Draga is surrounded by a number of uninhabited islands with natural beaches. There is nothing but sun, sea and sand to enjoy on the islands (no bars and restaurants). Supetarska Draga is known for nautical tourism. The oldest Benedictine abbey is also located on the island, and is definitely worth a visit.
Since Rab is the island with the most sandy beaches in Croatia, you should definitely explore the island to find the perfect beach for yourself.
Explore the Old Town Rab with it’s many narrow streets and traditional buildings - it will surely leave you breathless.
Park-forest Komrcar is great for a walk during a hot summer day, as the tall trees provide the much needed shade.
If you own a boat, or book a tour, you can visit the ’Goli otok’, which was one of the oldest Yugoslavian prisons.

About the area
Krk, the largest island in Croatia, is a captivating destination that offers a delightful mix of natural beauty, historical charm, and modern amenities. Connected to the mainland by a dramatic bridge, Krk is easily accessible and serves as a perfect gateway to the Adriatic Sea's island-hopping adventures.
The island's diverse landscapes range from serene pebble beaches and crystal-clear waters to rugged cliffs and lush Mediterranean vegetation. The beaches, such as Baska and Vela Plaza, are ideal for sunbathing, swimming, and engaging in water sports, while the inland trails invite hikers and cyclists to explore the scenic countryside.
Krk's rich history is evident in its old towns and villages, where narrow cobblestone streets lead to ancient Roman ruins, medieval castles, and charming squares. The town of Krk, the island's main settlement, is home to the impressive Frankopan Castle and the ancient Cathedral of the Assumption, both of which offer a glimpse into the island's storied past.
For those interested in cultural experiences, Krk does not disappoint. The island celebrates its heritage through various festivals and events, including traditional folk music and dance performances. The local cuisine is a highlight, with fresh seafood, olive oil, and the renowned Krk cheese taking center stage. Wine enthusiasts will enjoy tasting the local Žlahtina wine, a white variety that thrives in the island's unique climate.
Krk also caters to adventure seekers with its numerous coves and caves, perfect for snorkeling and diving. The underwater world around Krk is rich with marine life and sunken ships, providing an exciting playground for underwater explorers.
For a more relaxed experience, visitors can take leisurely walks through the olive groves and vineyards, or visit the small, picturesque villages that dot the island, each with its own character and stories to tell.
In essence, Krk is a destination that offers something for everyone. Its blend of natural beauty, historical sites, cultural richness, and modern conveniences make it an ideal spot for travelers looking to experience the essence of the Croatian Adriatic. Whether you're seeking relaxation, adventure, or cultural immersion, Krk is a place that will leave you with lasting memories.
