The stylish villa sleeps up to 14 people, with seven bedrooms and a spacious interior, making it ideal for larger groups. The open-plan living area has been specifically designed for special gatherings. Enjoy meals under delicate chandelier light at the dining table large enough to comfortably seat everyone. Then, retreat to the small sitting room with its cosy, relaxed feel.
Contemporary style meets classic heritage throughout Villa Ferrara, from the Lombardy terracotta floor tiles found on the ground floor to the chestnut-wood floors upstairs. Earthy colours and natural materials perfectly complement the villa’s high-quality, modern finish. This is especially the case with the six double bedrooms, as each is wonderfully spacious and boasts an ensuite bathroom. Some also have their own terrace for soaking up the magical lake and mountain views.
Take a dip in the private swimming pool, with the beach and lake just a stone’s throw away. Enjoy the idyllic nature of the gardens as you sit back with your favourite drink and watch boats gliding over the tranquil waters.
Picturesque Lake Como is popular for activities such as swimming, waterskiing, sailing, and windsurfing. The public pebble beach is just minutes away, and you can take in the views and laid-back atmosphere in mere minutes. There’s also an interesting boat museum to explore nearby.
Plenty of lakeside towns and villages are easy to reach from Villa Ferrara, with some of the closest including Santa Maria Rezzonico, Menaggio and Tremezzo. Location:
Villa Ferrara couldn’t be in a much better location for enjoying peaceful views over Lake Como in the quiet village it sits within. A pebble beach is just a couple of minutes’ walk away, with the lake offering activities such as sailing, windsurfing and waterskiing.
Also just a short distance from the villa is a museum with lake boats on display that date back to the 19th century, right through to those from modern times. Once you’ve explored the museum, stroll into the village centre along the promenade. It has several amenities, such as shops, restaurants, a post office and a bank.
Santa Maria Rezzonico (4km) was once just a humble fishing village, but has since become a popular town to visit on Lake Como. It’s also less than a 10-minute drive from Villa Ferrara. The typical narrow lanes are dotted with historic buildings, structures and stairways, with plenty of cafes and restaurants in which to soak up the laid-back atmosphere. Overlooking the town is a castle with a tower that provides sweeping views over the sea. The 14th-century church of Santa Maria Assunta has an ornate exterior with beautiful paintings to admire inside.
Another lakeside town to visit on a day trip is Menaggio (11km). You can drive there, or take the ferry down the shores of Lake Como. Children will especially enjoy the town’s lido, with swimming pools, sandy beach and fun activities all on offer. And history lovers will certainly want to visit the ruined medieval castle.
The whole Lake Como area is known for its botanical gardens, with many towns and villages boasting beautiful green spaces. One of the most impressive botanical gardens is found at Villa Carlotta in Tremezzo (15km).
