VILLA FONTANINA - PIENZA AREA This beautiful independent villa is located in the well-known valle d’Orcia. Monticchiello is the closest town and it rises on a hill surrounded by the countryside near the town of Pienza. From the surrounding country this small village shows its cassero tower that stands on top of the roofs of its houses and the remains of the walls and towers of the old castle. Montichiello is today surrounded by the remains of the town walls with towers mostly cut off. The entrance to the village is from Porta Sant’Agata, with the two defending towers on the side, which still display the emblem of Siena. This property has been completely restored by the owners to make it comfortable for a holiday retreat although keeping the characteristic ambiance of the old building. Rooms with wood-beamed ceilings are well sized and open to the most beautiful views of the valley, with wheat fields, olive groves and cypress trees The villa develops over two levels. The ground floor offer a fully equipped kitchen with fridge-freezer, oven, microwave oven, kettle, 5 rings cooker, dishwasher; a huge living-dining room with double doors opening to the front patio and to the back garden. In the smaller living room there is a large stone fireplace surrounded by wide red sofas spreading a warm and cosy atmosphere. Five spacious bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms complete the remaining space on this floor. On the first floor you will find further two bedrooms with queen-size beds, three bathrooms; one with Jacuzzi and two with shower facilities. There is also one small kitchen, a living room with table and TV. The second floor is reached by a stone external staircase. The outside area is composed by a covered annex with fireplace, pizza oven, barbeque, table and chairs where guests will enjoy unforgettable Tuscan sunsets. There is a panoramic swimming pool (5, 15 m x 15 m - depth from 90 cm to 1,70m) furnished with wooden sundecks. A laundry room with washing-machine, hangers, ironing board and iron is available for guests.
