An aristocratic villa built during the middle 800 between the enchanting green, and the sacred silence and the infinite valley. The green, the position and the elegance made the key elements of the main complex (6 beds) and the two depandances “Villa Serenella” and “Villa Limonaia”, two beds each.
This complex is situated in the Cortona hill side, where the woods of the mountains fade into olive trees surrounded by pine trees and cypresses. Protected by the high city walls, Villa Serena (250 square meters) overlooks the topmost of the huge tower of the “Palazzone”, an old rinascimental palace in front of the vast Valdichiana. The valley is surrounded by the Appennino’s mountains skyline, the massive cone of the mount Amiata, the peaks of mount Cetona, and the hills which reflect on the silver Lake Trasimeno. The elegance, along with the natural view, is possible thanks to the finely furnished interiors of the Villa.
Every building is completely independent and has its own access door. The common utilities are the parking lot and the swimming pool. The city of Cortona is less than a kilometre away and is reachable even by walking, while enjoying a marvellous panoramical walk of the valley down below and the Lake Trasimeno.
Swimmingpool open from 15/05 to 30/09
Enchanting cantina, restored for apartment purposes, sizes 60 square meters (20 meters long and 3 wide) where a graceful kitchen finds its place along with a living room, a bedroom with double bed and bathroom with shower. The furniture has been carefully chosen: everything styles from the ‘800, floors and ceilings are restored “cotto vecchio” tiles. This dependence offers a very comfortable and relaxing environment.

Cortona, a charming hilltop town in the province of Arezzo in Tuscany, Italy, is a destination that captivates with its rich history, stunning views, and cultural depth. Perched on a hill overlooking the Val di Chiana, Cortona offers a picturesque setting that has inspired artists, writers, and travelers for centuries.
The town's origins date back to Etruscan times, and its ancient walls still stand as a testament to its storied past. Visitors can explore the Etruscan Academy Museum, which houses an impressive collection of artifacts from the Etruscan, Roman, and Egyptian civilizations. The Diocesan Museum is another cultural treasure, home to significant works of art, including the famous Annunciation by Fra Angelico.
Cortona's medieval architecture is a delight to explore, with narrow cobblestone streets leading to hidden squares and beautiful churches. The town's centerpiece is the Piazza della Repubblica, where the Palazzo Comunale (Town Hall) stands with its impressive clock tower. The Santa Margherita Sanctuary, perched at the highest point of the town, offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and Lake Trasimeno.
For those interested in literature and film, Cortona gained fame as the setting for the book and movie "Under the Tuscan Sun." Fans can visit locations featured in the story and experience the romantic allure that drew the author, Frances Mayes, to this enchanting town.
Cortona is also a haven for food lovers, offering a taste of authentic Tuscan cuisine. Local specialties include pici pasta, Chianina beef, and the prized white truffles that grow in the region. The town's weekly market is a great place to sample local cheeses, cured meats, and other regional products.
The surrounding countryside is dotted with vineyards and olive groves, making Cortona an excellent base for wine tasting tours and culinary excursions. The nearby wineries produce some of Tuscany's finest wines, including the renowned Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and Chianti.
Throughout the year, Cortona hosts a variety of events and festivals, such as the Cortona On The Move photography festival, the Cortona Mix Festival of music and art, and the Tuscan Sun Festival, which celebrates the region's culture, food, and wine.
In essence, Cortona is a treasure trove of history, art, and gastronomy, offering a quintessentially Tuscan experience that is both enriching and unforgettable.
