Located less than 10km from the centre of Sorrento, this classical countrystyle villa sits on 2,000 sqms of Mediterranean gardens atop a hill that affords sweeping views of Mount Vesuvius on one side and the deep blue waters of the Mediterranean on the other. Cool off in the warmer summer months with a dip in the small paddling pool or nap under the lemon groves.
Offering an abundance of space and privacy, Villa Antica Limonaia consists of a main villa, separate annex, and 3 bedroom self-contained apartment, comfortably accommodating up to 14 guests. The elegant vintage furnishings give this hillside retreat a timeless, one-of-a-kind ambience.
The Main Villa (Sleeps 8)
The Main Villa boasts four bedrooms , an impressive sunroom with bright and airy living and dining area, separate dine-in kitchen, formal lounge room and furnished outdoor terrace with spectacular views of the Gulf of Naples and Mount Vesuvius.
The ground floor of the two-level Villa hosts a spacious living and dining room complete with floor to ceiling windows, comfortable sofa lounges, an antique wooden dining corner and beautiful homely furnishings and paintings making this space a delightful area for rest and relaxation. The living and dining room opens onto an extensive outdoor terrace with sweeping coastal views and is outfitted with dining table, outdoor sofas and teak and rattan patio furniture.
The Villas’ quaint marble-topped kitchen is a room lovingly created to inspire and motivate guests to use their gastronomical creativity for unforgettable Mediterranean holiday feasts. The kitchen boasts all the modern day comforts including: a six hob gas cooktop, oven, dishwasher, double sink, fridge/freezer, kettle and toaster. A washing machine and ironing board is available. From the kitchen and up two stairs you enter the formal lounge room of the Villa endowed with an open fire place and two comfortable three seater sofa lounges offering a warm and welcoming bolthole for the cooler months.
The stairway from the formal lounge takes you to the Villa’s main sleeping quarters with master bedroom and two double bedrooms, all with ensuite bathroom. The oversized master bedroom is quaintly furnished with wooden Mediterranean finishes and floral décor. This room boasts a queen-sized double bed, desk and reading corner, walk-in robe and ensuite bathroom with shower over bath, wash basin, bidet and WC. There is a small foyer between the main bedrooms on the upper level which opens onto a panoramic terrace with stunning views of the Sorrento coastline and picturesque Mount Vesuvius as its back drop. One of the bedrooms opens out onto this terrace.
The fourth bedroom is located on the ground floor and consists of a double or optional twin bed, flat screen TV, wardrobe and reading chair. The main guest bathroom is located across from this bedroom and is equipped with bath tub, sink, bidet and WC.
The property enjoys central heating and WiFi throughout.
Three-bedroom Apartment (Sleeps 6)
Perfect for large families and groups of friends, the Villa Antica Limonaia offers a separate living and sleeping quarters on the lower garden level of the villa. Enjoy a spacious 120 sqm three bedroom apartment with queen bedroom, two twin bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchenette and living/dining space.

The highlight of Villa Antica Limonaia are its expansive gardens resulting from the villa owners’ passion for a balanced rural holiday retreat that combines the best of the local Mediterranean landscape, hillside setting and scenic deep blue waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea.
Upon entry to the property, your sight will be arrested by the picturesque private gardens of the Villa – lemon orchards, Mediterranean vegetation and plants surround the villa in a natural amphitheatre, seducing you with their unique perfume.
The Villa offers a professional outdoor kitchen and enclosed dining terrace making it the perfect choice for a special celebration or simple alfresco dining, as it is spectacularly positioned to enjoy the views of Mount Vesuvius and the surrounding villages of Massa Lubrense.
The outdoor kitchen is complete with woodfired pizza oven, BBQ area, double sink, professional gas burners and cooling space making it the perfect location to organize a private home chef, pizza party or gourmet Italian cooking class.
The area is comfortably furnished with lounge chairs and a superb single piece handmade Mediterranean-tiled table top.
Finally there is a 7x3 meter swimming pool, 120cm deep, with sea view which makes it the perfect environment to relax and cool off in the hottest summer months.
Location/Attractions
Villa Antica Limonaia is located in a fraction of Massa Lubrense and is only a twenty minute drive to the historical township of Sorrento. The village of Termini is less than one kilometre away and offers the basic essentials including a general food store, butcher, chemist, bar and restaurant. The small town of Sant’ Agata sui Due Golfi is 4km away, and hosts some of the area’s best eateries including Michelin starred Don Alfonso as well as a greater selection of family-run restaurants, gelaterias, fresh pasta shops, fruit and vegetable stores, mini-markets, bakeries, butchers and fishmongers, cafes and pubs.
For beach lovers, the quaint pebbled beach in the harbour of Marina del Cantone is only 3km from the villa. Here you can find some of the best seafood restaurants, or perhaps you would prefer to hire a sunbed and beach umbrella, lay back and soak up the warm Mediterranean sun.
For the avid hiker, the start of various hiking trails including, Punta Campanella, Mont San Costanzo and the Bay of Ieranto, are within close proximity to the villa. In addition, day trips to Positano, the Amalfi coast and Capri Island are easily accessible by either car or boat from Marina del Cantone.
Guest Access
The Villa boasts parking for up to four medium sized vehicles with adequate room to manoeuvre. There is a steep descent to reach the Villa from the main road, however the large space in the carpark allows for ease of entry and exit.
