Exciting is one word to describe Chalet Mont Des Anges. After an extreme makeover in 2024, the chalet is now one of the best places to stay in Morzine.
Set on the sunny side of the valley between Morzine and Montriond, this luxurious chalet looks like a bungalow from the outside. But looks can be deceiving. Chalet Mont Des Anges is built into the hillside, so the chalet spans three floors and the surprises start as soon as you walk down the heated driveway and open the door.
Set on the sunny side of the valley between Morzine and Montriond, and just a 20-minute walk into the centre of Morzine via the suspension bridge, this luxurious chalet looks like a bungalow from the outside. But looks can be deceiving. Chalet Mont Des Anges is built into the hillside, so the chalet spans three floors and the surprises start as soon as you walk down the heated driveway and open the door. On the right, you’ll find space for skis, equipment and heated boot warmers. On the left is a glass wall and, behind it, an illuminated custom-built Twisted Land Rover Defender 110 showpiece that is for display only. On this floor, you’ll also find the master bedroom with views over the mountains and an open bathroom with a glass shower and WC.
What would you like to drink?
Head down the stairs and you’ll feel like you’ve just stepped into a top city bar. In winter, the bar will be manned by our team of hosts for your group, so order a cocktail and enjoy! There is a big-screen TV in the bar, a WC with zebra-print walls and an office nook with access to an Apple desktop computer. Open the doors of the bar and reveal the enormous sun deck with uninterrupted views over Parc Dereches forest, fields and Roc d’Enfer mountain. The outdoor space is spectacular and the deck has an outdoor kitchen, hot tub and a heated infinity pool making the most of those spellbinding views. The infinity pool is 5 metres long x 2 metres wide and has a swim current.
The decking area leads back inside to a sauna, shower and WC, so you can alternate between the hot tub, pool and this wellness area easily. This level also has a cinema room with a huge screen, comfy sofa and soft blankets for a movie night – our hosts can provide the popcorn! The cinema also has a display wine wall and our hosts can serve you a glass or two from the bar.
Uninterrupted mountain views
Upstairs is the hub of the home: an open-plan living room, kitchen and dining area. There are 14 brown leather dining chairs surrounding the wooden feather-edge table and ornamental cages hanging overhead with chandeliers, casting a glow over the table and setting the mood for fun meals together. The cosy lounge has a wood-burning stove and floor-to-ceiling doors that frame the mountains like a postcard. You can slide these doors right back and step onto the balcony to get a closer look at those views.
In winter, your stay will be hosted by our friendly team. We’ll lay out a continental breakfast for you, take care of housekeeping, have afternoon tea waiting for you when you return to Chalet Mont Des Anges and be on hand to serve you drinks in your very own bar, which are included in the price of your winter stay! While this is not a catered chalet with a chef, it’s a flexible alternative to a catered or self-catered stay. You’ll also have use of our 24-hour on-call driver service to take you to the lifts, pick you up from restaurants and take you around both Morzine and neighbouring Les Gets.
