The Neighborhood
Union Pier, Michigan is a charming beach town and vacation destination situated between the Lake Michigan shore and the Galien River only 5 miles from the Indiana state border. Union Pier, with a collection of neighboring communities like New Buffalo, Lakeside, Sawyer and Harbert, make up what’s known as Harbor Country Michigan. Established by John Gowdy, a settler from New York State, in 1861, Union Pier was initially set up as a sawmill to process timber and ship the material to Chicago. Located only 75 miles outside of Chicago, this area of Harbor Country is nicknamed the “Chicago Hamptons” for it’s abundance of lakeside retreats and city visitors seeking summer vacation memories. Payment & Cancellation - 14 Day Policy
Grace Period:
- Guests may cancel for free provided that: (1) reservation is canceled within 48-hours of reservation confirmation, and (2) reservation was confirmed at least 11 days before scheduled arrival.
Payment Policy:
- 14 days or less prior to arrival: Guests pay 100% at time of reservation.
- More than 14 days before arrival: Guests pay 50% at time of reservation, the remaining 50% will be charged 14 days prior to arrival.
- For guests paying with Points or Cash & Points: 100% of payment of both Cash & Points will be deducted at time of reservation, once booking is verified within 48 hours.
Cancellation Policy:
- 14 days or less prior to arrival: No refund issued, unless ‘Grace Period’ applies.
- More than 14 days before arrival: 100% refund.
House rules
- To abide by all legal requirements and property security rules, you may be asked to participate in a guest prescreening. All guests are required to review and sign Juniper Holiday + Home's Guest Occupancy Agreement prior to check-in. While we understand that events can affect your trip, it is our policy to adhere to the agreed upon cancellation policy in the listing. We recommend purchasing a vacation travel insurance policy if you suspect that you will need to cancel your vacation.
