In fact, South Limburg is quite distinct from all other Dutch provinces. The hills face the fields and the Maas runs along beautiful places such as Maastricht and Valkenburg. For a day of shopping, you can go to Roermond and for a wonderful walk or bike ride, National Park de Groote Peel is an excellent choice.
