Owners Share Why I Love My Home:
Our desire when purchasing our piece of Cape Cod was two-fold. Find a peaceful tranquil setting yet be perfectly positioned to explore all the Cape has to offer. Our year-long search finally ended when we discovered Hawksnest Hideaway. It’s mid-cape location allows easy access to all points on the Cape. Beaches, shops, restaurants, ferries are all at our doorstep. Even the farthest reaches of the Cape are within a 45 minute drive. Despite the central location Hawksnest Hideaway is our refuge of peace and tranquility as it borders a 245 acre oasis called Hawksnest State Park- abundant with nature, miles of walking trails and pristine kettle ponds. We have been truly fortunate to own Hawksnet Hideaway.
Let Us Tell You About This Home:
Approach this home through the quiet neighborhood where it is nestled - abutting Hawksnest State Park and amongst numerous Cape kettle ponds that provide the endless enjoyment of freshwater swimming and kayaking. Plenty of parking in front of the garage and also on the auxiliary driveway to the left of the home. Feel the welcoming nature of Hawksnest Hideaway even before you enter due to the caring accents the homeowners have lovingly curated for their guests.
Enter the home through the front door and immediately take in the "vacation vibes" surrounding you - bright hues of blue and teal throughout the open living spaces, whimsical artwork of local fauna adorn the walls and tasteful touches of original home among the updated decor and fixtures.
The living room offers plenty of seating between a loveseat, sofa featuring a lounge end and cozy chair - all surrounding the hearth with original wood stove and the flat screen TV beside it. Adjoining the living room is the dining area with high top table featuring seating for six (4 chairs and one bench seat - perfect for the kids!). And adjacent/open to the dining area is the spacious kitchen - bathed in natural light from the oversized skylight above and featuring modern appliances (refrigerator provides both water and ice!), an impressive industrial sized sink with extensive depth, every smaller appliance the homeowners could think to provide (additional, less used items are stored in the lower level to save counter space) and a fabulous "L" shaped island facing out to the living and dining areas that serves as both extra preparation space or a work/dining space since it includes two chairs. The open floorplan in this home provides endless opportunities for guests to remain connected with each other while creating memorable moments!
Exit the home through the sliding glass door in the dining room and step down into the enclosed porch which acts as an enviable three season room and additional gathering space. Within this space there are two chairs and a sectional sofa surrounding a gas fire feature and near a convenient cooler - perfect for enjoying an adult beverage and some conversation after the kids are asleep!
Outside of the enclosed porch you will find a small deck area with an outdoor shower and surrounded by ample outdoor spaces for the whole family to enjoy. To the right is a large fenced in area for the kids or pets to frolic within. Also contained within the space is a gas grill as well as a fire pit to enjoy on those cooler summer nights. To the left of the backyard is a large treehouse for guests to use (safely and with adult supervision) and at the back of the lot is a gate that will lead you to a path into Hawksnest State Park and Hawksnest Pond within.
Back inside and down the hallway from the open living space, you will encounter a convenient washer/dryer (within the closet), all three bedrooms and the full bathroom with tub/shower combination (Bathroom 1) that is in the hallway. The first bedroom (Bedroom 1) is the "bunk room" with Double beds and a great ocean theme for kids or adults to enjoy! Past the bunk room is Bedroom 2 featuring a Queen sized bed, plenty of storage and tasteful water fowl theme. Finally, the Primary bedroom (Bedroom 3) is at the end of the hallway and provides a full remote work space and full en suite bathroom (Bathroom 2) with shower.
Off of the hallway near the kitchen is the door leading to the stairway accessing the lower level which presents a fun game room! A spacious retreat, this game room contains three couches, a ping pong table, an electronic dart board and large flat screen TV. You could also work in this space on the desk or have direct access to the outdoor spaces as well.
Stay at Hawksnest Hideaway with your family and you will be in the perfect place to enjoy all that the Cape offers - proximity to beaches and popular downtown Harwich villages, nearby ponds and parklands to explore, bountiful outdoor spaces and amenities on property and a renovated interior within which guest comfort is essential!
