Some things you should know prior to staying in Hawaii:
The Big Island is not to be missed, so to help make your Hawaiian dreams a reality, we have assembled all the things you may need to know about staying here in Hawaii! Curious about places to visit or things to do? "Ask us about our recommendations list!". The Big Island of Hawaii seems determined to break the norm; the stereotype of the average tropical island, that is. Here you’ll find the ongoing battle between green forests, black lava fields, the ocean, the rain, and sunny days almost incomprehensible; the diversity is simply stunning. With that being said from time to time insects can be present outdoors and sometimes make their way indoors due to our tropical climate here in Hawaii. We share this information with you folks because we understand insects can be something to be fearful about or can be somewhat of a nuisance to some individuals. We would like to rest assured that we do schedule pest control services in our very tight schedule & do the maximum recommended to not harm people in the house/Condo which is once a month), but it’s one of the few cons of tropical weather. Please know we go above and beyond for all of our guests and make sure to provide standard maintenance for extra comfort and an enjoyable time when staying with us here in Hawaii.

About the area
Holualoa, Hawaii, nestled on the slopes of Mount Hualalai, is a charming artist enclave and coffee farming village that offers a serene escape from the more tourist-heavy areas of the Big Island. This small community is renowned for its lush landscapes, rich volcanic soil, and ideal climate, which contribute to producing some of the world's finest Kona coffee.
Visitors to Holualoa can immerse themselves in the local coffee culture by touring the numerous coffee farms that dot the region. These tours often include walking through coffee orchards, learning about the meticulous process of coffee production, and, of course, tasting the final product. The Holualoa Kona Coffee Company provides a comprehensive experience, from farm to cup, showcasing the care and tradition that goes into every bean.
Art enthusiasts will be delighted by the village's vibrant art scene. Holualoa's main street is lined with galleries and studios where local artists display their work, ranging from handcrafted jewelry and woodwork to fine art and glassblowing. The Holualoa Gallery, in particular, is a hub for art lovers, featuring a collection of Hawaiian art that captures the spirit of the island.
The village's small-town charm is further accentuated during the monthly Holualoa Village Art Stroll, where galleries open their doors for evening receptions, and the community comes together to celebrate art, music, and local cuisine. This event provides a wonderful opportunity for visitors to engage with the artists and experience the warm hospitality of the Big Island.
For those seeking a deeper connection with nature, Holualoa's elevation offers cooler temperatures and a tranquil environment for hiking and exploration. The surrounding area is rich with natural beauty, including lush rainforests, cascading waterfalls, and panoramic views of the Kona coast.
Holualoa also serves as a gateway to the adventures of the Big Island, from the stunning beaches and snorkeling spots of the Kona Coast to the awe-inspiring Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Its central location makes it an ideal base for day trips to explore the diverse landscapes and attractions the island has to offer.
In essence, Holualoa is a destination that provides a unique blend of cultural richness, natural beauty, and the aloha spirit. It's a place where visitors can slow down, savor the local flavors, and immerse themselves in the creative and agricultural heritage of Hawaii.
