Villa Portimao View translates into English as the House of the Princess and remains in the ownership of the Portuguese Royal family. Located on the Western side of the Algarve, the house is perched on the cliffs of Ferragudo. It faces west over the bay of Lagos and towards Sagres and the setting sun. The view is of the peaceful waters of the Algarve coast and yachts making their way from the marinas and of fishing boats passing in front of the house.
Villa Portimao View has been completely refurbished and updated to modern standards, including internet WI-FI access.
Living Area: This villa has many exquisite living areas. You have a drawing room that overlooks the terrace with a sea view, that boats a beautiful piano. Formal dining room with seating for 8 people at the main table and a further 8 people on circular tables. You also have a breakfast room, just off the kitchen, which is normally used for children and their meal times.
On the basement level you have a TV room with satellite TV, bar and cloakroom.
There is a laundry room with two washing machines and ironing room.
Kitchen: The kitchen is recently modernised and equipped with all the mod-cons such as cooker, 3 fridges, 2 dishwashers and all other kitchen essentials.
Bedrooms: There are 9 bedrooms, all with en suite bathrooms, sleeping 19 persons and spread over three floors of the building. The house’s original furniture has been restored, and the bedrooms have been refurbished in a more modern style but retain the original beds, which incorporate the family coat of arms.
On the ground floor you have:
Two double bedrooms with en suite shower/bathrooms. Sea views and doors leading out to the terraces.
One twin bedroom, with an en suite shower/bathroom. Sea view and doors leading out to the terraces.
One twin bedroom with garden view and doors out to a terrace with a river view.
On the first floor you have:
One twin bedroom with an en suite bathroom /shower room. Garden view.
One double bedroom with an en suite bathroom /shower room. Garden view.
One twin bedroom with an en suite bathroom and sitting room, and leading to a further twin bedroom with a sea view and doors leading out onto a terrace.
On the basement level you have:
One triple children’s bedroom (narrow beds) with en-suite bathroom and sitting area. Doors leading out from the sitting area onto the poolside terrace.
Bathrooms: All bedrooms are en-suite with shower/bath bathrooms.
Games: Play room for children in the garage, with table tennis table.
Outside: Swimming pool with 12,5 x 5 metres. The maximum depth is 1,40m. It has built-in steps at the shallow end. Outside there are extensive terraces and a swimming pool overlooking the sea. A downstairs bar and toilet are available at the pool which also has a poolside shower.
Other Information: The house has a lift which can be switched on upon arrival for the moving of luggage however switched off during your stay for safety measures.
The house has central heating available during the winter and air con available in the bedrooms only (exclusing the basement trio bedroom). Cots and high chairs: 1 cot and 1 high chair are available for children.
Maid Service: The rental price includes cleaning service 5 days a week, during week days and excluding bank holidays. Linen is changed every 7 days and towels are changed twice a week. There is a housekeeper and a gardener that look after the house on weekdays.
Local Areas: Located on the Western side of the Algarve, the house is perched on the cliffs of Ferragudo. It faces West over the bay of Lagos and towards Sagres and the setting sun. The view is of the peaceful waters of the Algarve coast and yachts making their way from the marinas and of fishing boats passing in front of the house.
Across the wide estuary is a distant view along Praia da Rocha beach that is well known to the many visitors to the Algarve region of Portugal.
