Sant’Angelo Farmhouse is a charming villa set on a working agriturismo
that produces grain, honey and jams. Located in the Casentino, the
highest part of the Arno Valley, it is surrounded by peaceful
countryside and open views. The property is divided into two
self-contained apartments and offers generous outdoor spaces, making it
an excellent choice for larger families or groups of friends who
appreciate both privacy and spending time together.
Just a five minute drive away lies Poppi, one of Italy’s most beautiful
villages, with its impressive castle, charming shops and welcoming
restaurants. Bibbiena, around seven kilometres away, offers
supermarkets and all everyday amenities. The nearby Parco Nazionale
Foreste Casentinesi provides a wonderful setting for nature lovers and
walkers. Cultural highlights such as Arezzo and Florence are easily
accessible and perfect for memorable day trips.
The farmhouse is painted in a warm yellow with dark green shutters and
is surrounded by beautifully maintained lawns. Next to the communal
kitchen is a spacious loggia with a long dining table, sofas and
comfortable seating, ideal for relaxing and sharing meals. The fully
fenced pool offers peace of mind for families with young children.
Guests are welcome to pick fresh produce from the farm’s vegetable
garden. The estate’s wellness centre, with indoor pool, sauna and hot
tub, is only a short stroll away. Activities include a lake for fishing
(own equipment necessary), tennis courts 100 metres away (own equipment
necessary) and a table tennis area.
Inside, the farmhouse has been carefully restored. Traditional Tuscan
features such as terracotta floors, beamed and brick-vaulted ceilings
and large fireplaces have been preserved. Both apartments are
tastefully decorated in soft pastel colours, comfortably furnished and
enriched with antique pieces and thoughtful details, creating a warm
and inviting atmosphere.

About the area
Arezzo, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Tuscany, Italy, is a destination that offers a rich tapestry of history, art, and culture. This charming city, less frequented by the tourist crowds that flock to its more famous neighbors, provides an authentic Italian experience steeped in tradition and beauty.
The city's medieval center is a treasure trove of historical architecture, with the Piazza Grande at its heart. This sloping square is surrounded by ancient buildings and is the site of the Giostra del Saracino, a traditional jousting tournament held twice a year that harks back to the Middle Ages. Visitors can feel the pulse of history as they wander through the cobblestone streets and explore landmarks such as the Romanesque-style Arezzo Cathedral and the imposing Medici Fortress.
Art enthusiasts will be drawn to the Basilica of San Francesco, which houses the stunning fresco cycle "The Legend of the True Cross" by Renaissance master Piero della Francesca. This masterpiece of early Renaissance art is considered one of the most significant fresco sequences in the world and is a must-see for any visitor to Arezzo.
Arezzo also boasts a vibrant antiques market, the Fiera Antiquaria, which takes place on the first weekend of every month. It's one of the largest of its kind in Italy, attracting collectors and enthusiasts from across the country. The streets and squares of the old town are filled with stalls selling everything from furniture to vintage jewelry, making it a paradise for treasure hunters.
The city's culinary offerings are equally enticing, with traditional Tuscan cuisine taking center stage. Local specialties such as Chianina beef, pecorino cheese, and the renowned Tuscan wines can be savored in the many restaurants and enotecas that dot the city.
For those looking to explore beyond the city limits, Arezzo's location in the Tuscan countryside makes it an ideal base for visiting the region's vineyards, picturesque hill towns, and the stunning landscapes that have inspired artists for centuries.
In essence, Arezzo is a destination that offers a blend of historical wonders, artistic splendor, and culinary delights, all set within the breathtaking scenery of Tuscany. It's a place where travelers can step back in time, indulge their senses, and experience the very essence of Italy.
