WALKING
With a short walk through Kemptown or along the beach, you can reach the city centre. Everything in the city can be accessed by foot. The nearest train station is about a 15-minute walk away.
Trains run frequently to London’s Victoria and Kings Cross stations as well as other destinations from Brighton’s train station, which is less than a mile away.
TAXIS Taxis abound throughout the city, and UBER is available in Brighton as well.
BUSES There are frequent buses running along Upper St James’s Street and Madeira Drive, which will take you into the heart of Brighton and beyond.
BIKES
A bike can be borrowed from one of the many locations that participate in the Brighton Bike Share Scheme. One can easily find a nearby location to rent one. A lovely seaside cycle path links Hove’s famous beach huts with Brighton Beach and Saltdean’s cliffs.
PARKING
Given the scarcity of parking spots throughout the city, particularly near the pier, we recommend taking the train whenever possible. The parking zone switches 500 metres east on Marine Parade, and it is significantly easier and cheaper, about £7 a day, instead. The east end of Madeira Drive is also comparable in terms of cost. You can also use the Parkopedia or JustPark apps to find other parking options in your area.
Because of the city’s excellent public transportation and walkability, we always suggest taking the train to Brighton.
