There is also a vibrant section dedicated to the Douro River, exploring how all of the areas of Portugal connect to the body of water in some way. Although the museum is only open from 9 am till 12:30 pm on weekdays, this is a deeply cultural museum that should not be missed.   Just over three hours away from the centre of Resende is the Douro River, providing a wide range of landmarks for guests to explore at their own pace. For lovers of architecture and religious history. Lamego Cathedral is a perfect spot to uncover. First built in the 12th Century, this cathedral stands pride of place in Lamego, which is just under three hours away from the Douro River.
