About the area
This apartment is located in an excellent area — in fact, in the 17th district of Vienna. In the neighbourhood, you will find many different restaurants and cafes which you can choose according to your taste. Also generally the transport system in Vienna is very comfortable so that you won't struggle from a long way from point A to point B.
Here is an overview of the means of transport in the area of the apartment:
-> 15 min. to Schottentor
-> 18 min. to city hall (Rathaus)
-> 23 min. to Parlament
-> 25 min. to the Museum Square
-> 28 min. to Prater Park
-> 30 min. to Stephansplatz
As for shopping, there is an Interspar and Hofer (supermarkets) right near the corner, so there won't be any problem carrying heavy bags through the city.
Please note that on Saturday, all shops and supermarkets in Vienna close earlier that during the working days and are closed on Sunday. An exception is BILLA at Praterstern and SPAR at the central train station: Hauptbahnhof.
If you would like to take a breath of fresh air, you can go on the walk in the park, which your apartment is located right next to (Pezzlpark).
The other perfect option to enjoy the nature, go for a walk and take a breath of fresh air is Prater Hauptallee; the 4.4 kilometres of dead-straight paths between the multiple rows of chestnut trees are always an excellent place to get some fresh air.
But if you would like to explore the city, the transport system will help you make it happen quickly, bringing you to any point on a map of the city in a short time.
A 2-minutes walk:
Trams:
• 43
The buses:
• 10A
• 42A
• N43
Rapid transit:
• S45
5 minutes walk:
Subway: Alser Straße
• U6 Floridsdorf
• U6 Siebenhierten
Using any of these means of transport, you can reach any destination in the city you'd like to.
Features of the area:
The transport system of district 2, Hernals, provides arrival to many destinations around Vienna.
5 things we recommended to visit in this district are:
- Schwarzenbergpark and castle Neuwaldegg
Schwarzenberg Park was built in the 18th century by Field Marshal Franz Moritz Count von Lacy and was one of Europe's largest pleasure and landscape gardens at the time. Since 1958, the park has been owned by the City of Vienna and, as a local recreation area, is an invaluable green jewel for many Viennese.
- Jörgerbad
The Jörgerbad has an impressive interior design that puts visitors in a certain retro ambience. The blue, orange and white swimming pool offers visitors a sports pool, a children's pool and a sauna area. In summer, an outdoor pool tempts visitors to cool off under the sun.
- Manameierei
The Manameierei is a a small calm restaurant and fits seamlessly into this concept of relaxation and offers a culinary haven in the middle of nature.
- Wiener Metropol
Event center for concerts and cabaret
- Kletterhalle Marswiese (climbing hall)
