About the area
Built around the old Paris stock exchange, the 2nd arrondissement has been expanding since the 16th century. A bourgeois district, where many banks set up business after the Bourse was built, it boasts some very fine architecture, particularly in Rue Réaumur,
a symbol of 20th-century architectural innovation. You'll also find one of the 5 royal squares of Paris (and one of the least well-known): the Place des Victoires.
A district at the crossroads between the Grands Boulevards and the Royal Paris of the Louvre. It's not the liveliest, but there are plenty of places to wander and discover, particularly around the central Rue Montorgueil.
This atmosphere immerses you in the daily life of Parisians and lets you discover the real charm of neighbourhood life.
