Tenuta Castione is a historic estate set in the Puglian countryside, surrounded by open land, quiet paths, and long views. Built in 1886, the property retains a strong sense of place, shaped by time, scale, and the natural rhythm of the landscape.
Carefully restored, the villa brings together historic architecture and contemporary comfort in a way that feels balanced and grounded. The interiors are generous and calm, designed to welcome larger groups without ever feeling formal or imposing.
Outdoor spaces play a central role in daily life at the estate. The swimming pool sits within the grounds as a natural place to pause and gather, while the private vineyard and the running path encourage movement, stillness, and time outdoors.
Tenuta Castione is well suited to families or groups of friends who value space, privacy, and a slower pace — a place where shared time unfolds naturally across rooms, gardens, and open air.
Space:
Tenuta Castione is arranged over two main floors, with additional independent suites set within the garden. The layout offers a clear balance between shared living areas and more private spaces.
Ground Floor
The ground floor forms the social heart of the villa. A large living room opens naturally into a bar area, designed for relaxed evenings together. The kitchen is spacious and fully equipped, connected to a dining room that comfortably hosts long meals around a large table.
On this level, a private suite offers additional independence. It includes a small living area with sofa bed and two bathrooms, creating a contained space within the larger house.
First Floor
The first floor can be reached by staircase or internal lift. A smaller sitting room leads to two bedrooms: a master bedroom and a twin bedroom, both with en-suite bathrooms. The master bedroom also includes a Turkish bath and a bathtub, offering a quiet, spa-like moment within the room.
Garden Suites
Set within the garden, three additional bedrooms offer independent access and a high level of privacy. Each garden suite includes its own en-suite bathroom and feels closely connected to the surrounding outdoor spaces, while remaining comfortably self-contained.
Across the estate, the sense of space allows guests to come together easily while always finding room for quiet and rest.

About the area
Monopoli, a charming coastal town in Italy's Puglia region, is a captivating blend of history, culture, and Mediterranean beauty. This hidden gem, less frequented by the tourist crowds, offers a serene escape with its picturesque landscapes, pristine beaches, and rich historical tapestry.
The heart of Monopoli lies in its Old Town, a labyrinth of narrow streets and whitewashed buildings that exude an old-world charm. Visitors can wander through these alleys, stumbling upon quaint piazzas, historic churches, and the imposing Castle of Charles V, which stands as a testament to the town's strategic importance through the ages.
The town's coastline is dotted with a series of coves and sandy beaches, providing ample opportunities for sunbathing, swimming, and enjoying the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic Sea. The most famous of these is Cala Porta Vecchia, a picturesque beach nestled against the backdrop of Monopoli's ancient city walls.
For those interested in marine life and underwater exploration, Monopoli's sea is rich with opportunities for diving and snorkeling, revealing a submerged world of biodiversity and even some intriguing shipwrecks.
Culinary enthusiasts will delight in Monopoli's gastronomic offerings, which reflect the region's agricultural bounty and seafood traditions. Local dishes often feature fresh produce, olive oil, and fish, with restaurants and trattorias serving up specialties like orecchiette pasta with turnip tops and sumptuous seafood risottos.
Cultural experiences abound, with the town's calendar dotted with festivals and events that celebrate its heritage. Notable among these is the Festa della Madonna della Madia, where a procession at sea commemorates the miraculous arrival of an icon of the Virgin Mary, which according to legend, helped complete the town's cathedral.
Speaking of which, the Cathedral of Maria Santissima della Madia is an architectural marvel, boasting a stunning Baroque facade and a richly decorated interior. Art lovers will find a treasure trove of religious art and iconography within its walls.
For a taste of rural Puglia, visitors can venture into the surrounding countryside, where ancient olive groves and vineyards paint a bucolic scene. Agritourism is popular here, offering a chance to stay in renovated farmhouses and experience the region's agricultural lifestyle.
In essence, Monopoli is a destination that offers a serene coastal retreat, steeped in history and local traditions, with all the charm expected of a southern Italian town. It's a place where travelers can slow down, savor the moment, and immerse themselves in the authentic Puglian way of life.
