The finishes are new and of absolute quality, but we know that while you’re here, this handsome little home will be a base, a station of rest and recuperation after a long day’s outdoor adventures in the mountains, rivers, forests & lakes around you. While located in an incredible, mountainous spot this home is surprisingly easy to get to, and is perched just off main, well-maintained roads easily accessible even in a Colorado winter. You’ll park in the gravel driveway and enter through the front door past the front porch, immediately entering into a warm, welcoming, surprisingly modern and inviting space. You’ll notice the gas fireplace and exceptional stonework of the hearth. The comfortable seating invites a sit. The kitchen to your right is cozy, but exceptionally appointed with modern, stainless steel appliances, quality cabinetry extending from stone backsplashes and rough-cut granite countertops. There’s everything here you need, and nothing you don’t — the kitchen is ready for your culinary creations; the perfect spot perhaps to broil the trout you caught in the world-class fly fishing waters just a few hundred feet away. Baked, or broiled, poached or even grilled with the gas grill conveniently located on the front porch just out the front door — the possibilities are endless. There’s a table with seating for up to five people too. The home’s 2 bedrooms both offer warm, comfortable and well-configured sleeping quarters for up to 6 guests. The primary bedroom is spacious, open and bright. You’ll immediately notice the voluminous, modern king size bed situated near a big, beautiful window offering bright morning views of the evergreens outside. The home’s second bedroom features a total of 4 comfortable bunk beds — the perfect setup for families or a group of friends. The single bathroom is accessible directly from both bedrooms. A stunning little place to do your business, the tile shower, the granite counter, stainless steel and tasteful lighting all seem almost too nice — touches of luxury juxtaposed with the natural mountain beauty just outside and so accessible. This cabin is located on 35 acres of rugged terrain backing up within feet of Pike National Forrest. The property is located across from the entrance of Eleven Mile Canyon and has Twin Creek a free stone headwater running through the center of the property into the South Platte River. At 8,000 feet elevation, the cabin has direct access to Pike National Forrest right out the front door and within a half mile of world class gold medal waters. At night, you can open a window or sit on the porch and listen and hear the water of the South Platte and the bottom spillway. In the fall, you can take a lunch and hike from the cabin to the spillway to see large Brown Trout trying to leap up the spillway. This ideal location allows you to fish Eleven Mile Canyon in the morning and the World Class “Dream Stream” in the afternoon and be back for a shower and dinner within minutes. We are in Park County and within minutes to Eleven Mile, Spinney Mountain, Antero, and Tarryall Reservoirs. Inside the cabin you will find maps and books on where and how to fish the various waters in the area. And if you need further assistance the “Tumbling Trout” fly shop is one mile away where you can talk with professionals and get supplies. In addition to fishing, we are approximately twenty minutes from the gambling town of Cripple Creek, Colorado. There you will find all the amenities of a larger City including many restaurants, services, and tourism. Due to the lack of humidity in the area if the thermostat is lowered below 68 degrees it is possible that it can freeze the unit if it is working too hard. Unfortunately, it will take 24 hours for the unit to defrost before an HVAC specialist can service it. Our evenings are generally cool in the summertime, simply opening the windows will provide extra natural coolness. 📢 Reminders About the Property -Please review the sleeping arrangements prior to booking. -Please keep all trash secure in the bins.
