This charming holiday home in Yoxford is an ideal base from which to explore Suffolk’s picturesque coast and beautiful countryside, with a deli and a great pub in the village. The historic Dunwich with its expanse of sandy beach is under six miles away; market towns of Framlingham and Beccles, and popular seaside towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold are all within half an hour’s drive.
2 Riverside Cottages is a 19th-century workers’ cottage which has been beautifully renovated, furnished and equipped to comfortably accommodate four guests. The cosy living room with wood burning stove and well-equipped kitchen/dining room complete the ground floor; and the pretty double room, quaint single/twin room with the bathroom on the first floor.
Off-road parking is an added bonus (Darsham Station is only three miles away too) and you can walk to the Kings Head for some delicious pub classics to eat in or take away. You can also benefit from the fully enclosed garden, safe for dogs and children, or simply a quiet spot where you can enjoy a book at the end of a busy day exploring.
GROUND FLOOR
You’re welcomed directly into the cosy living room with an attractive bay window, wood-burning stove, TV, sofa, chairs and occasional tables and blanket boxes.
KITCHEN/DINING ROOM
This room’s well equipped with an electric oven, hob, microwave, generous fridge/freezer, dishwasher, toaster and kettle. There’s a table and four chairs inside and the garden is conveniently through the kitchen door so you can enjoy outdoor dining in the warmer months.
FIRST FLOOR
Relatively steep carpeted stairs with a handrail take you landing with doors to both bedrooms and the bathroom.
DOUBLE ROOM
At the front is the attractive double room with a double bed sitting between bedside cabinets with drawers, a large chest of drawers and hooks with hangers for dresses and jackets.
SINGLE/TWIN ROOM
Sitting quietly at the back overlooking the garden and fields, is a pretty room simply furnished with a single bed, bedside table and a chair. There is a pullout bed which can be used on request at the time of booking, however it does make movement quite tight!
GARDEN
Fully enclosed with gravel and a patio area furnished with a bistro style table and couple of chairs. There’s external access from the parking space past the neighbours so you could wheel bikes through and store them in the garden out of sight from the road, as well as access through the kitchen door.
PARKING
There’s off road parking for one car in beside No 3 Riverside Cottages as well as roadside parking in front.
AREA
Yoxford itself has some interesting antique shops, a village shop, the wonderful Black Dog deli, the The Kings Head serving delicious food and local beers. Minsmere nature reserve is close; there are lots of wonderful walks and cycle routes as well as all the towns mentioned above and Snape Maltings, famous for music art and shopping.
