About the area
Benidorm, Spain, is a lively town that offers a diverse range of experiences for travelers. Located on the eastern coast of Spain, it is known for its beautiful beaches such as Levante Beach and Poniente Beach. These golden sandy beaches are ideal for sunbathing, swimming, and water sports. The town's seaside promenade is filled with bars and restaurants where you can savor local cuisine while admiring the stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea.
The skyline of Benidorm, often likened to Manhattan's due to its high-rise buildings, adds a unique charm to the town. Among these buildings, the Gran Hotel Bali stands tall offering panoramic views of the town and the sea. However, it should be noted that while it is one of Europe's tallest hotels, there are others in Europe that surpass its height.
For those interested in history and culture, visiting Benidorm's old town is highly recommended. Its narrow cobblestone streets are lined with traditional whitewashed houses, historic churches like the 18th-century Church of San Jaime and Santa Ana, and numerous shops selling local crafts. The old town also boasts an array of tapas bars where you can taste delicious Spanish dishes.
Benidorm also features several amusement parks such as Terra Mitica - one of Europe's largest theme parks with rides inspired by ancient Mediterranean civilizations. Aqualandia water park and Mundomar animal park are other popular attractions that cater to all ages.
Nature enthusiasts will appreciate places like Sierra Helada Natural Park which offers hiking trails with breathtaking views over Benidorm and the sea. Additionally, boat trips to Isla del Descubridor or Peacock Island Natural Park provide opportunities to enjoy marine life and bird watching.
In summary, Benidorm presents a mix of stunning natural landscapes, rich cultural experiences, vibrant nightlife and family-friendly activities making it an appealing destination for all types of travelers.
