The Oz Cathedral sits atop Beech Mountain at 5,345’ elevation. A very short walk to the top chairlift and Skybar 5506’ mark the neighborhood’s entrance. From the 2+ story windows and private decks, catch spectacular sunrises and sunsets, Fall colors, and views extending over 40 miles. You can see 3 states from various places in the house. The location and views of Oz Cathedral are simply unmatched.

On entering, you will be astounded by the massive 2-and-half-story vaulted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing what this is all about...the breathtaking VIEW! Sitting above the clouds, you can see Grandfather Mountain, Sugar Mountain, Mount Mitchell, and Roan Mountain.

The Neighborhood
The chalet is situated in the small vacation town of Beech Mountain, NC. Its mountaintop location and small-town charm offer a wonderful ambiance and a place to relax and refresh. The serene setting and mesmerizing natural surroundings provide plenty of attractions and places of interest for you to visit. Both Beech Mountain & Banner Elk offer skiing/snowboarding, snow tubing, eco-tourism, zip-lining, mountain biking, off-road ATVs, rafting, fly fishing, hiking, golf, fine dining, and shopping all at your fingertips. It is HIGHLY recommended to bring a 4WD or AWD to access Beech Mountain. During winter months we HIGHLY suggest bringing snow chains to assist. Signed Rental Agreement Exterior Cameras

Things To Know
Payment and Cancellation - 60 Day Policy
Grace Period:
- Guests may cancel for free provided that: (1) reservation is canceled within 48-hours of reservation confirmation, and (2) reservation was confirmed at least 11 days before scheduled arrival.
Payment Policy:
- 60 days or less prior to arrival: Guests pay 100% at time of reservation.
- More than 60 days before arrival: Guests pay 50% at time of reservation, the remaining 50% will be charged 60 days prior to arrival.
- For guests paying with Points or Cash & Points: 100% of payment of both Cash & Points will be deducted at time of reservation, once booking is verified within 48 hours.
Cancellation Policy:
- 60 days or less prior to arrival: No refund issued, unless ‘Grace Period’ applies.
- More than 60 days before arrival: 100% refund.
House Rules
- Very Important Things to Know!
- 1. Parking: There is limited parking for no more than 3 cars. Street parking is not permitted.
- 2. Quiet Hours After 10 PM: There are people who live full-time all around. Please be courteous.
- 3. Trash: Do NOT leave trash outside. There are bears in the area & they will find leftover foodstuffs! Trash must be BAGGED and taken to the Bearicade and completely latched. *NOTE! If you fail to remove the trash, there will be a $50 charge, as the cleaning crew will have to remove your trash so the following renters do not have to deal with it.
- 4. Fireplace: To begin please open the flue. The Living Room fireplace has a pine cone with the power switch for on and off.
- 5. Firewood: We don’t provide it. You can buy it at multiple places in town.
- “Can I cut my own in the woods?” NO! Do not cut any trees, bushes, or plants. They are green & will not burn anyway.
- “Can I pick up natural deadfall in the yard?” Yes! We love free yard cleanup. Please feel free to gather naturally fallen sticks and limbs.
- 6. Decks: If you have small children, please supervise them at all times due to extreme height and sudden drop-off below the deck.
- • Security cameras are located on the front door, back deck, and garage.
- • Early Check-in/Late Check-out is subject to availability with a $25/hour fee. Reach out to the host to inquire.
- • A Rental Agreement is required to be signed per North Carolina Chapter 42A Vacation Rental Act.
