Located in the Skyland community in Zephyr Cove that boasts of forest walking trails, a private community beach and access to a plethora of activities and events offered in South Lake Tahoe. Between 1965 and 1983, celebrity performers for the Sahara Tahoe Hotel & Casino stayed at the Home of the Stars as guests of the hotel. Although Elvis Presley had a private suite at the Sahara, other stars preferred the tranquility and spectacular panoramic views offered by the home. More recently, guests include 44th former Vice President Dan Quayle; John Elway, 2-time Superbowl champion quarterback; Joe Pavelski, Olympic silver medalist, retired NHL athlete, and winner of the 2025 American Century Golf Tournament; and Vanderpump Rules celebrities who filmed “Lake it or Break it” in Season 11, Episode 5, at the Home of the Stars. Today, as a private residence, guests can experience a little bit of history.
The location of this residence is 50 feet from the National Forest, multiple secluded sand swimming beaches, lakeside rock boulders to fish from and hiking trails to the historic Zephyr Cove Resort & Marina. Every water toy is available for rent at the resort along with a restaurant, two full bars and summertime beach side volleyball. The historic MS Dixie II paddle wheeler, South Shores largest cruise ship, also berths at the resort and offers daily day and sunset cruises to Emerald Bay all year long. Hike or drive, this resort is easily accessible from the Home of the Stars.
Three spacious levels define Home of the Stars. The six bedrooms are contained on the upper level with a dry sauna to soothe the body after an exhilarating day on the slopes. The mid-level is where the action occurs with a gorgeous kitchen, grand dining area, sitting area with lakefront views, a living room with a fireplace, and pool table. On the lower-level the kids will enjoy the foosball table, television, kitchenette and access to the large lakefront deck, hot tub and bar-b-que. No need to venture upstairs for food and drinks during sunny days on the lake, just bring your treats down to the lower-level and spend the day lounging at your leisure, entering and exiting through the sliding glass wall and pocket door.
The 220-foot shared pier is a sight to behold amongst the granite boulders and a panorama of forest green pines and dazzling blue waters. Guests enjoy a shared pier and private buoy (located 100 feet off the pier with a painter and boathook). Please note the pier may not be used for loading/unloading passengers or tying of motorized boats. A kayak is available to access moored boats or for paddling recreation.
