Home details
Just a stone’s throw away from Puglia’s beaches and sleepy hilltop villages, Villa Le Vigne is perfectly placed for a holiday getting to know the South of Italy. Located amidst ancient olive groves and rolling farmland, you can enjoy the calming sounds of nature as you unwind in the garden and yet you do not have to travel far to find a restaurant for a delicious evening meal.
Villa Le Vigne can sleep eight guests in comfortable surroundings. The property is actually made up of two separate buildings; the villa is a contemporary dwelling with an open-plan living and dining space, a fully-fitted kitchen and two bedrooms. Just a few paces away is the trullo; this type of white-washed, cone shaped building is found only in this region and has sat on this land for centuries. Once used as an agricultural building, the trullo has been carefully restored and is now a welcoming home away from home which can sleep 4 guests. The trullo offers a kitchenette and dining area plus two bedrooms.
Both of the dwellings are bright and spacious and have views over the gorgeous garden. You will have everything you need on hand whichever building you stay in as there is Wi-Fi and air conditioning throughout plus TVs and modern kitchens and bathrooms.
Outdoors, the expansive garden is shared between both homes. This layout ensures privacy for two groups or families travelling together and when you wish to gather together you will find lots of outdoor entertaining space. In the grounds there are a few different covered dining tables so you can fire up the wood burning pizza oven for a fun-filled evening of pizza making as a group. There are also outdoor sofas and little nooks for unwinding with a good book. One of the best features of the oasis-like garden, is of course the inviting swimming pool which is ideal for a refreshing afternoon dip.
Near to the villa you will find plenty of things to see and do. The closest town is Carovigno which is 6km away and has all of the shops and restaurants you could need within easy reach. You could also visit the stunning city of Ostuni which is known as the white city due to its white-washed buildings, Ostuni is a must-visit location and is just 13km away by car.
As well as towns, cities and beautiful Trulli towns such as Alberobello (58km away) which you can explore, there are a range of sandy beaches around 6km away. Whether you wish to swim at a serene, protected cove within a nature reserve or relax at a luxurious, serviced beach club, you can find a great choice of beaches close by.

Known for its stunning whitewashed houses, ancient olive groves, and pristine coastline, Carovigno is a destination that promises an authentic Italian experience away from the hustle and bustle of the more frequented tourist spots.
The town is crowned by the impressive Castello Dentice di Frasso, a medieval castle that has been the sentinel of the area for centuries. Visitors can explore the castle's fortified walls and towers, which offer panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and the Adriatic Sea. The castle also hosts cultural events and exhibitions, providing a glimpse into the region's rich heritage.
Carovigno's historical center, or "centro storico," is a labyrinth of narrow streets and alleys, where every corner reveals a picturesque scene. The town's architecture is a testament to its diverse past, with influences from the Normans, Swabians, and Aragonese. The Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli and the numerous small chapels dotted around the town are beautiful examples of religious architecture that visitors can admire.
The area around Carovigno is renowned for its olive oil production, and a visit to a local masseria (a traditional farmhouse) to learn about the process of making extra virgin olive oil is a must. Many masserie also offer cooking classes, where you can learn to prepare Pugliese specialties using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients.
For those looking to relax by the sea, the Torre Guaceto Nature Reserve is a short drive from Carovigno. This protected area boasts a stretch of unspoiled coastline with crystal-clear waters, perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing. The reserve is also a haven for wildlife, offering opportunities for birdwatching and nature walks.
Carovigno's culinary scene is a delight for food enthusiasts. The town's restaurants serve up traditional dishes that highlight the flavors of the region, such as "orecchiette" pasta with turnip tops and fresh seafood from the Adriatic. The local "focaccia" and "taralli" are snack staples not to be missed.
With its blend of history, culture, natural beauty, and gastronomy, Carovigno provides a tranquil yet enriching Italian experience. It's a place where you can immerse yourself in the slow pace of life, savor the simple pleasures, and leave with a sense of having discovered one of Italy's best-kept secrets.
