The Neighborhood
Covent Garden is noted for its unique shops, great restaurants and coffee shops as well as plenty of free entertainment from skilled street entertainers. Covent Garden is home to the Royal Opera House and the London Transport Museum, whilst the Royal Ballet’s home is just down Charing Cross Road. It is an area with a unique atmosphere and a rich history. London best known sights, shopping, theatres, art galleries, museums and so much more are in the immediate area. The location means that Trafalgar Square, The Mall, Oxford Street, Whitehall, The Strand, Holborn and Aldwych are within walking distance. If you enjoy walking, you can also reach Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament, and so much more. The National Gallery and National Portrait Gallery are in easy walking distance and as is the world-famous British Museum. Covent Garden Market was, until not so long ago, the central fruit and vegetable market serving the whole of London. The area buzzed from early morning with barrows being rolled to and from market stalls keeping them supplied with fruit and vegetables to sell. Nowadays, it’s a place of shops you can’t find anywhere else and with a very special place in most Londoners’ hearts.
Let’s try that again.
