This stylish modern 2 bedroom/2 bathroom home on the entire floor of a converted warehouse building with secure parking, air-con and a home gym is a rare find. Well suited for longer stays, it has spacious rooms, open-plan living area, large windows, high ceilings, air-conditioning, professional kitchen, laundry, abundant built-ins and well-furnished with unique artworks. It’s city living with the best of restaurants, bars, shopping, entertainment and public transport only a short stroll away.
The Space:
Situated in a 6-storey building of the 1920s with Stripped Classical and Romanesque design elements, this spacious warehouse style apartment takes up the entire 3rd floor of the building and features an open-plan living/dining/kitchen space with shiny dark wood floors and a wall of windows offering urban views of Surry Hills. The living area has 3 comfy sofas, 2 armchairs, an ottoman, wi-fi and a Smart TV. A choice of 2 ceiling fans, air-conditioning ceiling units and gas heaters ensure an optimal temperature all year round. The dining area provides a table for 6 people and flows through to a well equipped kitchen with loads of bench space, a Miele dishwasher, double sink, 6-burner gas cooktop, built-in Miele microwave oven, a double-door fridge/freezer, Nespresso coffee maker and soda stream. There’s another table which can be for eating or as a work station, as well as a breakfast bar with 2 stools. A separate area off the dining space comes with a day bed.
The apartment has 2 bedrooms, both with frosted glass windows for privacy. The main bedroom comes with a king size bed, built-in robes with plenty of storage for longer stays and an ensuite bathroom with bath, shower, double sink and beautiful floor-to-ceiling marble tiles. The second bedroom has a queen bed and built-in robes. There’s also a dedicated gym room offering free weights and an elliptical machine. The main bathroom features the same marble wall tiling as the ensuite and comes with a roomy shower and bathtub. A European laundry provides a Miele washer, separate dryer and laundry basin.
The Neighborhood:
Surry Hills is an inner-city suburb of Sydney with a vibrant café/dining culture, boutique clothes shops, art galleries, buzzy bars and pubs. Stroll to nearby Crown Street for a great choice of eateries to suit any budget, including ’Bills’, famous for its breakfasts (although popular for lunch and dinner too!). A Woolworths Metro supermarket and Sydney’s Hyde Park are less than 10 minutes’ on foot away and it’s only a short walk to 2 of Sydney’s best theatres, Belvoir St and Capitol Theatre. Sydney’s Chinatown is just down the road for authentic Asian cuisine, along with Paddy’s Market for fresh food shopping and other goods. If you’re into culture, the Australian Museum is 10 minutes’ walk away and it’s less than 20 minutes on foot to the ‘White Rabbit Gallery’, showcasing one of the world’s most significant collections of Chinese contemporary art. Sydney’s CBD (Downtown) is also under 20 minutes’ walk away.
Getting Around:
The apartment comes with its own security parking spot (for 1 small car – prior notice is required to have access), but if you prefer public transport, nearby bus services will take you into the CBD (Downtown) in 15 minutes (the same time is takes to walk). Alternatively, it’s a 7 minute stroll to major transport hub Central Station, providing train, light rail and bus services throughout metropolitan Sydney, regional NSW and even interstate.
Other Things to Note:
* An additional $40 will be charged to your total if a check-in happens after 8 pm, and we require your arrival time as the Concierge does not live on site.
* A mandatory full clean of the property and complete linen change will be done every 4 weeks and added to your total booking amount for any booking longer than a month. This will be added to your total amount and processed separately.
*If you are eligible for a full refund as per our cancellation policy, a processing fee of $50 still applies.
*After check-in, if you choose to shorten your stay, you will receive a 50% refund of the unused nights of your booking.
* Please note that this property has been specifically catered for short-term rentals by Property Manager and is not a hotel.
* Due to strict no noise no party policies in Strata buildings or local council by laws we will be enforcing the NO PARTY NO NOISE POLICY - This will mean that we will be able to force an eviction if these terms are breached. If this is he case we hold the right to hold on security deposit and booking amount for compensation for the purpose of any damage, missing keys and potential penalties from the body corporate or local government authority.
