Our charming private hideaway offers all the modern comforts you desire while retaining the rustic ambiance of a traditional Brown County cabin. Renew your spirits surrounded by nature at its finest within the walls of our lovely one-bedroom, one-bath retreat, complete with an inflatable queen mattress that can accommodate up to four guests. The bright and airy kitchen and dining area provide ample sunlight while you dine, and the spacious screened-in porch provides the perfect space to unwind and watch the wildlife pass by. Delight in a romantic evening on the backyard patio while grilling on the BBQ and enjoying the ambiance of the surrounding woodlands at night. Your furry friend will find this retreat as welcoming as you do, as we gladly accommodate your pet. Our cozy cabin provides a unique accommodation experience, fusing our original 1949 cabin with an 1859 cabin for a seamless blend of history and modern convenience. Please note that our cabin does have a steep driveway, so we recommend using a front-wheel or four-wheel-drive vehicle. Rural Environment Notice Our cabins are located in the beautiful woods and countryside of Brown County, Indiana. While we provide routine professional pest control and keep our homes clean and well-maintained, guests may occasionally see seasonal pests such as mice, flies, lady beetles (Asian beetles), or stink bugs — especially in the fall and spring. These harmless insects are part of life in a rural setting. We do everything possible to minimize their presence and appreciate your understanding as part of the authentic Brown County experience! PET-FRIENDLY PROPERTY: There is a $75 fee per pet. Property Manager proudly donates a portion to the Brown County Humane Society when you bring your pet and pay your pet fee. ALL EVENTS, DAY GUESTS, AND PARTIES ARE PROHIBITED WITHOUT PRIOR WRITTEN APPROVAL FROM PROPERTY MANAGEMENT. Effective July 1, 2025, the county has raised the innkeeper’s tax from 5% to 8%.

Grandma Barnes Cabin sits 3-1/2 miles from Nashville—near Bean Blossom. This private hideaway offers a modern home’s comforts while retaining its Brown County aura of rusticity. The bright, comfortable kitchen and dining area give off ample amounts of light. The large screened-in porch allows for bird and deer watching or just relaxing. You will find this home completes its romantic setting with a backyard patio, a BBQ grill, and a picnic table.
The original cabin, built in 1949, sits on four acres of wooded hillside. We added an 1859 cabin to the original to create a delightful and secluded one-bedroom, one-bath retreat. This cabin accommodates up to four guests with one queen-sized bed and an inflatable queen mattress. Your pet is also welcome here.
Along with the queen bed, an air mattress is also provided.
There is a $75 fee per pet for our pet-friendly properties.
Grandma Barnes Cabin has a steep driveway. It is helpful if you have a front-wheel or four-wheel drive vehicle. When going up the hill, maintain a steady speed, and you should not have any problems.
