Tucked away beneath towering palms and surrounded by lush tropical greenery, this hidden South Fort Myers retreat feels worlds away from the crowds — yet beaches, restaurants, shopping, and entertainment are all just minutes from your doorstep. If you’ve been searching for a vacation home that feels private, peaceful, family-friendly, and unlike the typical cookie-cutter Florida rental, you’ve found it.
Set beside an undeveloped preserve on a quiet unpaved road just off historic McGregor Boulevard, the property offers a rare “Old Florida” atmosphere filled with swaying palms, banana trees, coconut trees, and incredible privacy in every direction. Guests looking for a polished subdivision setting should note this home has a more secluded, natural, rural-feel environment — one of the very things many visitors end up loving most about it.
Designed for relaxed Southwest Florida living, the home combines comfortable indoor spaces with an unforgettable outdoor oasis that quickly becomes the heart of your vacation. Spend your days floating in the heated saltwater pool beneath the screened lanai, soaking in the spa, grilling dinner outdoors, or gathering around the unique wood-burning fireplace as evening settles over the preserve.
Inside, nearly 1,700 square feet of living space includes 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, and sleeping accommodations for up to 8 guests with an owner-provided queen air mattress. The open main living area gives everyone room to relax together, with a reclining sectional, large Smart TV with Xfinity cable, electric fireplace, dining table for 8, and easy access to the outdoor living space.
The kitchen is fully equipped for vacation meals at home, featuring stainless steel appliances, granite counters, a refrigerator with water and ice maker, bar seating for 3, cookware, dinnerware, small appliances, and kitchen tools.
The split-bedroom floor plan gives families and groups extra privacy. The primary suite includes a king bed, Smart TV with Xfinity cable, and ensuite bathroom with dual sink vanity, private toilet room, and a large walk-in shower with dual shower heads, including a relaxing rainfall shower. One guest bedroom offers a queen bed and Smart TV with Xfinity cable, while the second guest bedroom includes two twin beds. A shared guest bathroom has a bathtub/shower combination.
Outdoors, this home truly separates itself from the average vacation home. The fully screened lanai includes a private heated saltwater pool with waterfall feature, spa, sundeck, rattan seating area, bar-height table, and Smart TV with Xfinity cable. Just beyond the lanai, enjoy an open patio with a wood-burning fireplace, outdoor dining table, chaise loungers, and self-service grill. Guests provide their own wood, charcoal, or propane as needed.
Additional conveniences include a laundry room with washer, dryer, and laundry tub; full-sized garage refrigerator/freezer for guest use; bed linens; bath, pool, and kitchen towels; unlimited WiFi; and driveway parking.
The location is wonderfully convenient while still feeling tucked away.
You’ll be approximately 3 miles from the Fort Myers Beach trolley station, 5 miles from Fort Myers Beach, 6 miles from the Sanibel Causeway, 9 miles from downtown Fort Myers, and 17 miles from RSW International Airport.
Spend your vacation shelling on Sanibel, exploring Captiva, relaxing on Fort Myers Beach, dining along McGregor or in the River District, golfing, kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, biking, or simply enjoying your own private tropical retreat at home.

About the area
Basking in the glow of the Florida sun, Fort Myers is a haven for diverse experiences that cater to every traveler's taste. While it's often confused with its neighbor, Sanibel, known as the "City of Palms," Fort Myers has its own unique charm.
Beach enthusiasts will find their paradise not within the city limits but on the nearby islands of Sanibel and Captiva. These islands are famous for their stunning seashells and offer miles of pristine sandy beaches perfect for sunbathing, swimming, and shelling. They provide a serene escape from the mainland hustle.
History enthusiasts will be captivated by Fort Myers' rich past. The city was once the winter retreat for Thomas Edison and Henry Ford. Their estates have been transformed into intriguing museums where you can explore their homes, gardens, laboratories, and exhibits showcasing their inventions.
Nature lovers won't be disappointed either. The Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve is a 3,500-acre wetland offering walking trails through lush vegetation teeming with wildlife. Manatee Park is another must-visit spot where you can see these gentle giants in their natural habitat during winter months.
Downtown Fort Myers offers cultural experiences with its vibrant arts scene. The River District comes alive during Art Walks as local artists display their work in galleries and along streets. The Florida Repertory Theatre stages top-notch performances ranging from dramas to musicals.
Food connoisseurs will relish Fort Myers' culinary scene featuring fresh seafood straight from the Gulf of Mexico along with other Floridian specialties. From upscale dining establishments to casual beachside eateries, there's something to suit every palate.
Sports fans may need to venture slightly outside Fort Myers city limits to catch Major League Baseball spring training games for teams like Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins at facilities located in nearby cities such as Cape Coral.
Fort Myers beautifully combines natural allure with cultural richness and historical significance despite minor geographical clarifications. Its intriguing museums, vibrant arts scene, and delectable cuisine make it a destination worth exploring, even if its beaches and baseball are just a short drive away.
