It is 5 mins from J30 on M1 Clowne has superb amenities; 2 supermarkets, restaurants, 3 pubs and a petrol station along with good transport to Sheffield, Chesterfield, Meadowhall Shopping Centre. There are take ways/ home deliveries of every taste too! Close to Sherwood Forest, Sherwood Pines, The Peak District, Clumber Park, Creswell Crags, Bolsover Castle, Chatsworth and Hardwick Hall and Langold country Park the areas of outstanding natural beauty are endless . There are cycling trails, climbing, bouldering, walking, horse riding all local. For extra thrills, check out Gulliver’s Valley! Let’s look at the property…. The kitchen is fully equipped with pots and pans and utensils to undertake most, if not all styles of cooking. It has a dishwasher, washing machine and a microwave. Cook then eat in the beautiful dining room, al fresco on the large picnic bench our simply on your lap in front of the smart Tv. The living room, adjacent to the kitchen has a multi fuel burner, fully accredited and a ‘starter supply’ of wood (more can be bought in the petrol station or at a local superstore called Dobbies). There is a full fire guard in the utility cupboard if young children are present. In the living room there is a smart Tv with terrestrial Tv viewing also available. The large wooden coffee table has a selection of games and colouring pencils in the drawers and I endeavour to leave age appropriate toys too! However if it’s a cosy adult weekend then all of these would be put away. The dining room has a large wooden table which extends to sit 8. Extra chairs will be provided to suit the number of guests ( or upon request). With the drop down lighting and candle lit wooden bookcases (battery candles provided), this space can be made to feel very romantic. There is a single bed in the dining room that is strewn with cushions to relax on or to serve as an extra bed. The cupboard under the stairs serves as a wardrobe for a guest using this as a bedroom. The dining room table also serves as a great place to work from home. Being away from the living room and kitchen it is quiet and has the best internet connection in the house! With a downstairs loo and washbasin, this room could suit a person with limited ability to access the upstairs bathroom. The whole of the ground floor has the benefit of solid oak floors so not too much to worry about with children dropping things on the carpets. Upstairs however is a shoe free carpeted zone. Here we have 2 bedrooms with new comfy beds with season appropriate duvets and Egyptian cotton bedding which has been laundered at 60 degrees + and ironed to give a luxurious nights sleep. Bedroom 1 has large, fully fitted wardrobes and shelves and 3 single, adult beds, each with their own flexible, dimmable reading lights. Each bed has a box shelf and charging point. There is a vanity space and large mirror. Black out blinds and full length dark curtains will ensure a great nights sleep. Bedroom 2 has a lovely double bed, again with fantastic, laundered linen. Clothes can be stored in the chest of drawers and an Ikea clothes rail, complete with hangers and hanging pockets. Again there is a flexible reading lamp and a bedside lamp. Into this room we can add a toddler bed with bedding (plastic sheets too) if required. The first floor bathroom is large and spacious with a full size bath, shower and sink. Bath towel, hand towel and face cloth will be provided for each guest. Outside, to the back of the house there is a beautiful, seasonal garden. Picking and eating of ripe organic fruits (raspberries, strawberries, plums, cherries, black currants and tomatoes) is encouraged. It has an 8 seater picnic table and a 2 seater swinging chair to relax in. Eating in the shade of the grape vine or chilling and listening to the birds, this space is invaluable at the end of the day. It is totally child friendly and there is no way for them to escape. To the rear of the house, accessed by a driveway two houses away, there is a parking space for a small to medium car. There is however plenty of free on road parking directly outside the house. from the rear of the house one can bring bikes into the courtyard. Very close to the house there is the quiet Linear Walk to amble through wild flowers and stop to listen to the birds ( take the path next to the rectory). There are walks to ‘the grips’ where bouldering/climbing enthusiasts have discovered accredited new sites, to the Elm Tree pub, through beautiful countryside where the food is fabulous and there is a very big garden. The key will be left in a lock box so there is no pressure on arrival times. Deep cleaning of the house will take place between guests or weekly where guests book a long stay. The garden will also be maintained at the same time. Further cleaning can be undertaken at request; there will be an additional charge of £40 for this additional service We live in Clowne and will be on hand should any problems arise. We are happy to help with anything. I am a retired nanny. I have many years of experience with children from birth to teens. I am available to babysit most evenings . I charge £10 per hour If you cause damage to the property during your stay, you may be required to pay according to Property Manager’s property damage policy.
