Shalom in the Wood
A stunning Blue Ridge Mountain getaway awaits when you choose this secluded cabin, tucked in the forest. You’re surrounded by wineries, hiking, biking, fishing, boating, and kayaking, among a plethora of outdoor recreation opportunities, while also being very close to Blue Ridge, McCaysville, Blairsville, Ellijay, and Murphy. Nonetheless, you’ll probably spend most of your time on the huge wraparound deck, perfect for morning coffee and evening cocktails. The new patio, just a few steps down from the deck, offers comfortable, and in the afternoon, shaded outdoor space to relax in. The enclosed sunroom, complete with an outdoor gas fireplace, TV, and comfortable seating area, is sure to become your favorite spot in the house. Then again, with seven distinct outside living areas to choose from, all of them are winners.
Inside, you’ll find soaring ceilings, modern rustic décor, and beautiful knotty pine finishes. Newly built in 2020, the home boasts new furnishings and loads of charming details, from the stacked stone floor-to-ceiling fireplace and a kitchen island to the natural wood railing leading up the staircase. Two living rooms offer plenty of gathering space for the whole family, and downstairs you’ll also find a wet bar. The open main floor features views from every window and a spacious full kitchen the chef will love. After indulging in a memorable meal, have everyone stay together to play one of the 50 provided games for all age groups.
Four bedrooms – including the main suite, which occupies the entire third floor – await at the end of the night, all of which also have TVs for bedside viewing. But first, make your way to the wide, covered front porch where you can watch the sky change colors at sunset. On the lower hillside, enjoy a wood-burning firepit/grill by the hot tub, then go for a soothing soak. Balcony seating on the private deck above the firepit offers a bird’s-eye view of others warming up by the fire below. In addition to the hot tub, the covered terrace is an equally enticing option. Its swings, an intimate gas firepit, and outdoor games make it a desirable hangout spot for groups, especially when the inclement weather arrives, but it’s not quite time to go inside and call it a day. For a more spectacular firepit experience, follow the winding custom-cut rock steps to a firepit that was built right into the upper hillside where you can watch the sun go down into the mountaintops from a lofty position while roasting marshmallows and lounge comfortably in Adirondack chairs. For something more active, grab the corn hole game and fire up the griddle for dinner on the new patio or in the screened sunroom as the sunset offers a picturesque backdrop – You could go out, but why would you leave when everything you need for a magical mountain stay is right here?
Just inside in the terrace level game room, younger guests will find a space all their own in the Lil Cub Den, an under-stairs “cubby” with a big chalkboard, puzzles, coloring books, toy trucks, and other age-appropriate musings to keep them so busy. Guests will also have access to Ping-Pong, shuffleboard, air hockey, darts, and a mini dueling basketball game. Also, don’t forget to give it your best shot by competing with others in your group in the host-created scavenger hunt. It’s been a guest favorite.
The tranquil vacation you’re longing for awaits!
