Home details
Sitting pretty on the hillside in charming Faralya, on the outskirts of Ölüdeniz, is the luxurious five-bedroomed Villa Turkuaz. This family-friendly villa is contemporary and Mediterranean in style with a whitewashed exterior, rustic stone walls and natural-coloured furnishings. The landscaped gardens are dotted with beautiful trees and plants, tapping further into the feeling of rural serenity. Sitting on the terrace, there are breathtaking views of the sea and the tree-lined mountains.
Perhaps this villa’s main stand out feature is its stunning outdoor area. Think large infinity pool which looks directly onto the coastline below, a shaded seating area with comfortable sofas and plants creeping over the wooden structure. We must give honourable mentions to the barbecue and al fresco dining area too, where relaxation and stunning vistas come hand in hand. Sit back with a drink and watch the interrupted sunsets (or sunrises) in their full majestic hues.
Laying across four acres of land – completely unseen from anybody outside the property – this villa is completely private. Inside, there are four spacious bedrooms, with an additional double bedroom that has a separate entrance, sleeping up to ten people. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the villa with lovely natural light, and from some of the bedrooms, there’s direct access to the pool area. There’s also an open-plan kitchen, living and dining room – fully equipped with modern amenities for a hassle-free, home-from-home experience.
Situated in a tranquil countryside spot in the Fethiye region, Villa Turquaz is the ideal villa for anyone who wants a luxury holiday in a peaceful location. You have the best of both worlds; the villa is only 300 metres from the sea, where you can access the sea from the rocks or even don your snorkels and swimming gear and explore the coastline. Fethiye and Ölüdeniz are within reach, too – perfect for families or friends who’d like to enjoy a quiet holiday with plenty of things to do nearby.
Please note that there is a 300-metre gravel road up leading up to the villa

Location:
Villa Turkuaz is in peaceful Faralya village, about 15km south of Ölüdeniz and 30km south of Fethiye. The villa is in a rural and quiet spot and is perfect for escaping the hustles and bustles of modern-day life. If you’d like to venture out, it’s only a short drive to local restaurants and bars where you can try authentic Turkish cuisine like Köfte, balls of beef or lamb, served with yoghurt.
For adventure lovers, you can join the Lycian Way – a popular way-marked footpath which traverses around the coast of Lycia, from Fethiye to Antalya. Highlights along the trail include spectacular views over the coast from above Kas and Kalkan, the castle, harbour and sunken ruins at Ucagiz and the breath-taking descent to Faralya, above the cliffs of Butterfly Valley – a nature reserve that’s home to diverse butterfly species. You can join the trail for a short day trip or a more extended overnight stay with camping spots along the route.
In Ölüdeniz, about a 30-minute drive from the villa, you can swim in the famous blue lagoon or relax on Belcekız Beach, with crystal-clear waters and a soft, white sandy shoreline. The vibrant and lively port city of Fethiye is also within driving distance, and there you’ll find a shopping centre, alongside restaurants and cultural sites. You can head to the harbour lined with water-front bars or rock tombs like the 4th-century B.C. Tomb of Amyntas. There’s also a fish market and other markets selling everything from handmade rugs to fresh produce. At the market, you can usually sample delicious gözleme (thin dough crepes) and then finish off your day at one of the Turkish Baths for a relaxing massage or detox in the sauna.

About the area
Fethiye, located on the Turquoise Coast of Turkey, is a treasure trove of natural beauty, ancient history, and serene beaches that make it a compelling destination for travelers. The town is nestled in a sheltered bay with stunning mountain backdrops and boasts some of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in the country.
One of the main attractions in Fethiye is the Lycian rock tombs, including the impressive Tomb of Amyntas, which dates back to the 4th century BC. These ancient tombs are carved directly into the cliff faces and offer a window into the area's rich history. The Fethiye Museum also provides further insight into the region's past with artifacts from the Lycian, Roman, and Ottoman periods.
For beach lovers, the famous Ölüdeniz Beach, with its blue lagoon and pebble shores, is a short distance away. Paragliding from the Babadağ Mountain offers breathtaking views of the lagoon and is a must-do for adventure seekers. Butterfly Valley, a secluded beach accessible only by boat or via a challenging hike, is another natural wonder where you can relax or swim in crystal-clear waters.
The ghost town of Kayaköy, abandoned after a population exchange between Greece and Turkey in the 1920s, provides a haunting yet fascinating day trip. Visitors can wander through hundreds of deserted houses and churches in a beautiful hillside setting.
Fethiye's harbor is a lively spot where traditional wooden gulets dock alongside luxury yachts. From here, you can embark on a variety of boat trips to explore the numerous islands and hidden coves along the coast. The town's fish market is a culinary highlight where you can select fresh seafood to be cooked at nearby restaurants.
The weekly market in Fethiye is a colorful and bustling affair where you can find everything from spices and textiles to local produce and crafts. It's an excellent place to experience the local culture and practice your haggling skills.
For those looking to hike, the Lycian Way trail starts near Fethiye and offers some of the most scenic trekking in Turkey, with ancient ruins and stunning coastal views along the way.
In summary, Fethiye is a destination that caters to a variety of tastes, whether you're interested in ancient history, outdoor adventures, or simply soaking up the sun on beautiful beaches. Its combination of natural wonders, historical sites, and vibrant culture ensures a memorable visit for any traveler.
